Location and Accessibility
Camp Caravan RV Park Waco is conveniently located at 11900 Chapel Rd, Lorena, TX 76655, USA. While the address places it in Lorena, the park is very much considered a gateway to the Waco area, situated just a few miles from I-35. This proximity to a major interstate highway is a significant advantage for RV travelers, offering easy on/off access for rigs of all sizes, from large motorhomes to fifth wheels. This ease of access minimizes the stress often associated with navigating an RV, allowing for a smoother arrival and departure experience.
The park's strategic location provides a desirable balance: it's far enough from the immediate urban bustle to offer a quiet, serene environment, yet close enough to key attractions and amenities in Waco. Downtown Waco, home to popular destinations like Magnolia Market at the Silos, Baylor University, and a wide array of dining and shopping options, is approximately 11-12 miles away, typically a quick 20-minute drive. This means guests can enjoy the tranquility of the park and then easily venture out to experience the vibrant culture and entertainment that Waco has to offer.
While Chapel Road leading to the park has been noted by some as needing maintenance and lacking a shoulder, the overall consensus is that access to the park is manageable, even for larger rigs. It is important to note, based on park information, that guests should exercise caution with GPS directions, as some routes (like around to Leutwyler Road) do not provide a viable entrance. The park itself is tucked back from the road, contributing to its quiet atmosphere, and requires a short drive once you turn onto the property.
Beyond the major attractions, daily necessities are also within easy reach. An HEB grocery store is about 4 miles away, and propane services can be found approximately 3 miles from the park. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, Cameron Park and Zoo is about 12 miles away, and the Cotton Belt Hike & Bike Trail is around 6 miles distant, offering ample opportunities for recreation. This blend of rural peacefulness and urban accessibility makes Camp Caravan RV Park Waco an exceptionally well-located spot for RVers exploring or settling in Central Texas.

Camp Caravan RV Park Waco Reviews
Very nice campground, the sites are spacious with room between sites. The sites are level. The wifi worked good most of the time. I can't speak to the facilities as I didn't use them. I would recommend it.
Feb 24, 2023 · Ed Willard (Kingfish)We stayed at Camp Caravan in our 5th wheel for a week while visiting Grandkids in Lorena. Site has pea gravel cover which can get dusty when really dry but is much better than crushed gravel and provided good drainage when we got rain. Site was wide enough to park truck beside rig and sloped back to front which made the front of the rig higher than we have ever had it before (but was nice because you could stand up under the front). Park is extremely quiet during the day while full-timers are working and remains quiet in the evening. We did not find it a negative that there isn't a bathhouse since all sites are FHU. Chapel Road on the way in needs some maintenance and has no shoulder but we didn't have any issues. We will definitely stay there again.
May 03, 2022 · Deborah MartinPhotos on website misleading. They are when park was new or in fall/winter. We were just there and the areas between sites looked like they hadn’t been touched since last year, overgrown with weeds. They did however mow the dog site. Lots were big and roomy, none of long timers looked bad. Mentioned the weeds to camp host and she kinda blew me off. Laundry was clean. Next door to cement plant so some truck noise all day. Very close to downtown Waco.
May 06, 2024 · Pam LiwenIt is a nice quiet place, even on the weekends. At least while I was there. Very nice looking and well taken care of.
Mar 22, 2025 · Amanda LayneWe’ve been here for almost two months now, and it’s my favorite park we’ve stayed at so far! It’s very much like staying at a state park. The location is great because it’s secluded but still near plenty of what we need in Waco. My three year old has a blast playing on the trails and the dog park is top notch. I love the cedar trees all around. And to top it all off, the owner is amazing and always friendly and accommodating! You can just see how much work he puts into this park daily. I love being here!
