May 26, 2025 · Jim “Jimbo” CarrollAvoid Brookwood at All CostsBrookwood is a run-down park owned by two individuals with a clear “trailer park” mentality. I brought in a Class A coach and was immediately met with hostility—the owner literally chased me down on a golf cart, toothless and aggressive, like something out of a bad sitcom. The vibe here is completely off, the service is nonexistent, and we were treated like we were intruding on someone’s backyard barbecue. The facilities are outdated and falling apart. Unless you’re into the “rusted lawn chair and burned-out grill” aesthetic, steer clear. If you value your rig, your peace of mind, or even just common decency, save yourself the hassle and head to Copake instead—it’s night and day.
Apr 20, 2025 · Andy GoodwinA really uncomfortable experience. We were new to the area and stayed here so we could visit friends in the area. Our local friends came to pick us up in the morning and were chased down and harassed by the owner.Later, a friend dropped me off and waited for me in Visitor Parking while I unhooked my RV.Another owner approached my friend and asked why he was waiting for me - in the Visitor Parking! My friend was interrogated and made to feel like a trespasser when he was behaving very normal by politely waiting in the designated Visitor Parking spot - he did not even get out of his truck!Do not stay here if your intention is to explore the surrounding area with friends.Your friends will not even be able to step foot on the property to pick you up and take you out for breakfast.Really weird owners, why run a campground if you are afraid of people?
Apr 02, 2025 · Monica StaatsWonderful place with lots to do near by. Unusual to see large sites at a private campground. I go to state parks to get this much room on a site and state parks have a 2 week stay limit.
Sep 28, 2024 · Loretta MeisterThis is a great family run campground. We were seasonal campers in our new fifth wheel and had a wonderful season at Brook n Wood. The sites are larger than average and the upper loops are more than adequate to accommodate a big rig. The grounds are well maintained. The wi-fi worked so good that I was able to use it to work from the campground during the week which meant I didn't have to leave =). Close to Red-hook and Rhinebeck which are both great towns and the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.
