Big Mike's Creekside RV Resort Reviews
Booked before hurricane. Called to book in June 2025 with already paid site.Very difficult to get call back or reply to text from office.Roads are very narrow getting into park which is full of full time campers, not a resort. When hooking up found no cap on sewer connection. Returned from trip to area to find that the sewer backed up in my hose and couldn’t empty black or gray.Water is next to and beneath sewer hookup and sewer drains into water hookup. The site next to ours dumped and it flowed out the uncovered sewer hook up on our site filling the water hookup.Very unsafe , unsanitary and contaminated area by water sewer hookup.Ask the office what they could do about sewer and the lady replied “I’m so sorry”A person working at the park replied that the sewer pipe was crushed and was suppose to be repaired the weekend before we arrived but wasn’t.Sent text to person and we were told that that the sites would be closed and repaired.I checked today ( next day ,Saturday June 14 th)and Mikes rv resort still has site’s available to rentI would not recommend this rv park. The county health department should be notified and be made aware of the condition on Creekside sites. Maybe the State agency and EPA should be notified to verify no pollution in creek water. A sewer spill could easily pollute and contaminate the stream. We were very disappointed with communication from rv park staff and response to problems.
Jun 14, 2025 · Sonny & Gay WilliamsExtremely tight spaces caused difficulty in backing in, limited area to relax outside of camper where the sewage lines from neighbors campers were so close you didn’t want to be outside. No real amenities, should take the “resort” word out of their name.We arrived later in the evening but before the end of check in time which caused a delay in setting up because there wasn’t anyone there. After knocking on his trailer we got no response. Called their number left a message. Received a call back fairly quick and was basically checked in via phone conversation and was told to speak to the camp host. After setting up camp host came by our slot, gave us our paper work and left. I asked about a picnic table and said he would bring one in the morning. The next day after returning from exploring the area still no table. Talked to the office and they finally brought one over.Location was close to a lot of mountain type things to do to include Grandfather mountain. It seems like they are explaining the park and if they make the new spaces larger we might return but I would not recommend this place. I think they have a lot of reasonable areas to improve upon.
Jul 29, 2024 · Robert BorgesiThis was our first time to Big Mike’s Creekside RV Resort. It was a bit disappointing because I felt it was a bit deceiving. They state they have a dog park which they don’t. For us that is huge since we always travel with our two dogs. I was also disappointed that I got a text saying they were expecting me and my site was all prepared for me. When we got to our site it had a stalled lawnmower in it that they had to remove with a bobcat. I called ahead and asked if we would have a picnic table. They stated yes but we didn’t. We asked the host who removed the lawnmower if we could get one and he never came back. We called the number for the RV park. No one ever answers you leave a message and they get back to you or you text them and they get back to you. I suggest you text because sometimes my messages were not answered for hours. Eventually we just grabbed a picnic table from a vacant site. There are about 20 full time people there who appear to live there. It was pretty quiet. They are about 50% paved roads and 50% gravel. Pads are not wide enough and roads are too narrow. They planted some new trees in the whole RV park which look great but made it challenging to get in your site if you are long. They were building a stage for events in the future. I can say whoever owns it is trying hard to make it nice but they have a ways to go. I would focus more on customer service. All in all it was ok. We stayed 8 days.
Jul 01, 2024 · Laura BolducLots of potential for being a fantastic RV park. There are a couple of small drawbacks at the end of my review, but the majority is very positive. The owners are doing a ton of upgrades, so the upside of the park will continue to grow. They have recently asphalted the majority of sights, although some are still gravel. You absolutely cannot beat the location of the park. You are no more than thirty minutes from everything in the area. The owners are currently working on at least 3 projects. Including a bridge to reopen the main entrance as well as a playground. There is a ton of green space still left in the park and a nice creel that runs along the border. Coffee shop on-site is excellent, and everybody is super helpful. The service is A-plus.The only drawback's I found are related to big rigs. They definitely can accommodate big rigs but some of the sites are definitely not level for your length. Make sure to get a fully level site. Also, if you stay while in season, getting long length will be difficult as all roads are very narrow. Also most of the spaces are pretty tight. There is approximately 13 feet between Sites for a vast majority of the park.Overall, the positive far outweighs the negative and we were very happy with our stay.
Mar 21, 2024 · rob beresFamily and dog friendly campground. Friendly service, clean and well equipped. Busy coffee and ice cream shop. Firewood for sale. Immaculate bathrooms and nice big showers. Fun playground, fenced in dog park, creekside sites, amphitheater with events and live music. Close to restaurants, shops. Walkable to do errands. Walking/biking trail. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
