This direct access is a significant advantage for travelers.
The park's positioning on 22 acres allows it to overlook the city of Bastrop while maintaining a sense of quiet seclusion. Bastrop RV Park provides a range of fundamental services aimed at supporting a comfortable and extended stay for its residents. While some reviews indicate areas for improvement under new ownership, the park offers core amenities essential for RV living. Based on available public data and customer feedback, here are the services generally offered:
- Full RV Hookups: Sites typically come with full hookups, including electrical connections (likely 30-amp and 50-amp to accommodate various RVs), water, and sewer connections at each space. This is a standard and crucial service for RV parks.
- Laundromat Facility: The park features an on-site laundry facility. However, customer feedback notes there are "only 4 washers and dryers" and suggests that "More would be useful in a park that size." Recent reviews also indicate that "half of the equipment not working" and that the "change machine should be placed in laundromat where the coins are needed," suggesting potential maintenance and convenience issues under new management.
- Men's and Women's Showers/Bathrooms: The park provides communal shower and bathroom facilities. Recent reviews, however, mention that the "Men's bathroom is 1/5 with paper towels stuffed to conceal holes" and "Needs a remodel." Another review states the "Shower house hasn't been properly cleaned in SEVERAL months! What a shame!" This indicates a decline in cleanliness and maintenance of these facilities under new ownership.
- Catch-and-Release Fishing Pond: A notable amenity on the 22-acre property is a catch-and-release fishing pond, offering a recreational activity right within the park.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: Bastrop RV Park is pet-friendly, allowing guests to bring their furry companions along.
- Spacious Sites: While not explicitly a service, the "Space are good" and include both back-in and pull-thru sites, indicating ample room for RVs. Some sites may also offer covered car parking.
It's important for potential guests to be aware of the mixed reviews regarding the condition and functionality of some amenities, particularly the laundry and bath facilities, and to consider contacting the park directly for the most current status.
Bastrop RV Park, despite recent transitions in management, still offers several inherent features and highlights that appeal to RVers, especially those seeking a quiet, community-focused, and affordable long-term living solution in the Texas Lost Pines region. While some aspects have faced criticism, others remain strong draws:
- Quiet and Peaceful Environment: A consistent highlight is the park's tranquil atmosphere. Residents appreciate the "low road noise at night" and the overall quietude, making it a suitable place for relaxation and comfortable living away from urban clamor. This is a significant benefit for long-term residents.
- Spacious RV Sites: The park offers "good" spaces, including "back-in and pull-thru sites," ensuring that RVs of various sizes can be accommodated comfortably. The ample spacing between sites contributes to a sense of privacy.
- On-Site Fishing Pond: The presence of a "catch-and-release fishing pond" directly on the 22-acre property is a unique amenity. It provides an easy and accessible recreational activity for residents right at their doorstep, adding to the park's appeal for nature lovers.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: The park is noted as "pet friendly," which is a crucial feature for many RVers who travel with their beloved animals, ensuring they can bring their companions along for their stay.
- Affordable Long-Term Rates: One long-term resident specifically highlights the excellent value, stating, "for what they charge a month. You will not find a better place." This affordability is a significant draw for those seeking an economical option for extended RV living.
- Community of Long-Term Residents (Historically): While reviews indicate a shift in the demographic ("It was a place of long term full timers. It's becoming a place for migrant workers."), the park has historically served a long-term community. This often fosters a sense of camaraderie, and even with shifts, many long-term residents appreciate the stability of a consistent neighborhood.
- Proximity to Bastrop's Natural Beauty: The park's location offers easy access to the unique "Lost Pines" environment, including Bastrop State Park, Lake Bastrop, and the Colorado River, providing ample opportunities for outdoor recreation and appreciating Central Texas's distinctive landscape.
While acknowledging the challenges under new ownership regarding cleanliness and services, the core appeal of a quiet, spacious, and affordable location with a fishing pond remains a draw for those prioritizing these specific features.
For Texans interested in Bastrop RV Park, whether for a potential long-term stay or a shorter visit, direct contact with the park management is highly recommended to get the most current information, especially given recent changes and feedback. For Texans, Bastrop RV Park offers a compelling option for those seeking an affordable, quiet, and well-located base in the unique Lost Pines region. While recent changes in management and some amenity conditions have been noted in reviews, the park's fundamental advantages still make it a suitable choice for a specific segment of local RVers.
Firstly, its quiet atmosphere and "low road noise at night" provide the peace and tranquility many Texans seek when escaping the hustle and bustle of city life. This aligns with the Texas spirit of enjoying the outdoors and a more laid-back pace.
Secondly, the park's affordability, particularly for long-term monthly rates, is a significant draw. For Texans looking for an economical solution for extended RV living, whether for work or leisure, Bastrop RV Park presents a budget-friendly option. This makes it accessible to a wider range of residents who prioritize cost-effectiveness without wanting to compromise entirely on a peaceful setting.
Furthermore, the strategic location on State Highway 71 offers excellent accessibility to the charming city of Bastrop and its many natural and cultural attractions. Texans can easily explore Bastrop State Park's unique "Lost Pines" forest, enjoy water activities on Lake Bastrop and the Colorado River, or visit downtown Bastrop's shops and eateries. Its proximity to Austin also means convenient access to major urban amenities when needed, striking a balance between rural serenity and metropolitan connection.
While the recent feedback regarding the condition of laundry and bathroom facilities suggests areas that prospective residents should inquire about directly, for Texans who are largely self-sufficient in their RVs or prioritize a quiet, affordable, and strategically located base, Bastrop RV Park remains a viable option. It caters to those who value the essence of a peaceful long-term community amidst the distinct beauty of Central Texas.

Bastrop RV Park Reviews
Laundry facility is nice, but with only 4 washers and dryers. More would be useful in a park that size. Men's bathroom is 1/5 with paper towels stuffed to conceal holes. Needs a remodel. Space are good with low road noise at night. Change machine should be placed in laundromat where the coins are needed.
Jun 25, 2025 · Travis RobinsonUsed to love the place. New owners... Higher rent... Less services. Very few amenities, laundry room and shower house. Laundry room usually has half of the equipment not working. Shower house hasn't been properly cleaned in SEVERAL months! What a shame! The old caretaker passed away, and apparently we're not paying the new caretaker enough ( or perhaps too much!). We are looking for another place. It was a place of long term full timers. It's becoming a place for migrant workers. No offense to them! I've been there. But standards are lost with new owners as far as cleanliness.
