This park, under new ownership and spanning over forty-five acres, aims to provide a blend of natural beauty and essential amenities for the modern RVer. This article will offer a clear, engaging, and informative overview of what makes Backwater RV Park a noteworthy choice for locals exploring the Southeast region of our state.
Backwater RV Park is designed with practicality in mind, featuring "pull through" sites that simplify arrival and departure for RVs of all sizes. The convenience of an email-based check-in system allows for seamless entry even outside of office hours, a significant plus for travelers. While the park's marketing may describe it as a "luxury resort," resident reviews offer a more grounded perspective, indicating a focus on core RV necessities. This distinction is important for managing expectations, as the park delivers on essential services and accessibility rather than extensive resort-style amenities.
We understand that selecting an RV park involves considering various factors, from the layout of the sites and available hookups to the overall atmosphere and staff interaction. Backwater RV Park has received mixed feedback, particularly regarding site spacing, rules, and staff demeanor. However, it consistently earns praise for its clean facilities and strategic location near Lake Eufaula. This article will delve into these aspects, providing a balanced and factual look at what you can expect when choosing Backwater RV Park as your next stop in Alabama.

Backwater RV Park Reviews
A nice place. The sites are all pull through and wide enough. Cable is a plus. They send a your information through email so you can even show up if the office is closed. The 200 row is a little short for our 40' fifth wheel if we unhook so I had to park sideways. Not a big deal but they state "No parking on the grass." Very convenient to freeway!
Mar 30, 2022 · Dennis DerichsAbsolutely not a resort, let alone the luxury resort the website promises! The amenity buildings appear to have been recently remodeled but the sites are very narrow with maybe 2 feet of grass between each site. Although not allowed, nearly the entire back "Lake View" area is permanent residents giving it more of a mobile home park vibe. There are no campfires allowed, even propane fires, and several other weird RV park rules in the 5 pages of "Guidelines" that are emailed. Two stars are for the bathrooms and laundry, they were nice! Due to the rude staff, we will not return and do not recommend for recreational use. The close proximity to the museums and capitol is the only draw.
Apr 30, 2024 · Cindy PealstromThe owners said that the park was supposed to get new bathrooms, laundry, and showers. Work started in June 2023 and was supposed to take 2 weeks, but come June 2024 and the old bathrooms that used to work are still torn apart. I do know the owners are planning on taking away the picnic tables and fire rings. They are planning on keeping utilities separate from lot rent. The owners are Mark and Joe.
Jun 14, 2024 · DeathDealerI love this place. Quiet, friendly, and clean. Price is good, you can stay for an unlimited time. Managers are great people. They keep this place nice.
Nov 13, 2021 · Barbara JamesThis place is amazing. Full hookups. Clean bathrooms. The best camp hosts, and amazing walking trails. This is a hidden gem that won't stay hidden for long. They are adding more sites and plan to put in a pool this next year. Being gated it was super quiet. The small playground was perfect for our five year old. We can't say enough about how great this place was. We are coming back in the spring and fall of next year! Book here and enjoy your stay!
