We rented unit E5 “Seaside Cottage” fromMakeMyVacation.com, arental company for several units at North Coast Village condos in Oceanside, CA. The units were built in 1980 and are in various states of repair. Some owners have done a horrible job of updating and some units are dirty. Many have ants and musty smells. The unit cost over $450 a night in March 2025, and was horrible—see photos. We will not return and do NOT recommend.This is an old, outdated unit, with a very minimal, at best, view. We will not be recommending this unit or The North Coast Village to any people.This was supposed to be an upscale unit with an ocean view. The cost of this dirty unit is nowhere worth the low quality and value. There are many more choices to stay.We were led to believe through advertising that we would have a “completely renovated” unit with an ocean view, as advertised. (See photos)Upon walking inside, there is a distinct musty smell throughout. The furniture is stained, mismatched, and of cheap plastic quality.The fireplace was old and dirty, the cover is rusted and no longer covers the space.The view is only a small side angle view of a water inlet and a plastic tub left on the patio.This is not supposed to be a camping trip!The kitchen towels were stained. The stove drawer was filthy and appliances were mismatched. The sink facet was dirty with debris on it.The bathroom towels are thin and ragged. The towel rack, next to the shower is loose and may fall off the wall. Problems with plumbing exist. Ants are present on the bathroom floor, towels and sink countertops.The pillows are terrible and the upstairs floor creaks every time people get up from the bed or move around.  (photos to follow) - Margo Peck
