These sites are primarily suited for tent camping, as noted by visitor reviews, suggesting that while trailers (especially larger ones) might find access challenging, tent campers will find ample, well-defined spaces.
- Access to State Forest Amenities: As a part of Yellowwood State Forest, campers benefit from access to the broader forest's resources. While specific campground amenities like showers or full hookups might be limited (consistent with a state forest campground often being more primitive), visitors typically have access to basic facilities like restrooms, and the natural resources of the forest itself are the primary draw. It's always advisable to confirm specific facilities when booking.

This indicates that the sites are well-suited for traditional tent setups, offering level ground, natural shade, and an authentic primitive camping feel. Those with larger travel trailers (TTs) might find access challenging, reinforcing its focus on a more traditional, ground-based camping experience.

Great state forest campgrounds. One of my favs
Jun 06, 2025 · jeramie hardinwe did not camp here because our TT is to big...however we checked it out.....really nice quaint and private secluded area. If we tent camped...this would be perfect. Quite beautiful
Jan 07, 2024 · Patti AndrewsBeautiful little park.Good fishing extremely well taken care of. Very clean
Jun 26, 2024 · Brad ReelDecent sites for primitive camping with nobody working during the weekend and zero showers. If you need firewood, either get to the office before 4pm on Friday, bring your own, or bring tools to get some from the woods. They make sure you paid your fee by driving through during the evening, though not having rangers around when visitors will be there is inexcusable. Also, the lack of shower facilities, especially if someone is camping long term, in a primitive area with zero privacy falls short compared to other states like West Virginia or Virginia. For $13 a night in an area that doesn't provide anything but a site on tax payer land seems excessive. I can't say don't go, though I will find someplace better. Management needs to evaluate whether they are there for the paycheck or to serve the taxpayer/customer.
