Wright Patterson Scout Camp Reviews
Great unique place to camp. Gave it 4 stars due to the grass that clearly has not been mowed in 2023. Clean porta potty’s, nice fire ring and plenty of room for our group of 22 the set up camp as well as have a game of kickball. Everyone loved seeing the planes take off from our campsite.
Jul 23, 2023 · Angela ForkapaHad water available nearby, was big enough for a troop of 50 kids and adults, with good ground for setting tents on, and was not too difficult to access. Only problem is the grass wasn't cut recently.
Jun 17, 2018 · Luke AThere are a lot of people who will not be able to camp here because it is an active military base, but if you are a Scout Troop, it is worth making the effort to camp here and to attend the Air Force Museum. 3rd time here and always a treat. The only downside is that you cannot fax in your clearance information, it had to go via email, so I do worry about identity theft.
Jun 09, 2019 · Dan BoughtonUnique camping experience for our Troop: on the AFB grounds, where the campsite is wholly wooded and quiet (except for rare flights on the weekend we were there). The boys had a good time as usual, and one favorite feature of all was the base dining hall, where a full meal could be had for well below $5 for the Scouts.
Sep 05, 2018 · Trevor CopelandPrimitive site close to the Wright Memorial trail, USAF Museum and other historic sites. Pre planning is a must, and troops must register at least 30 days in advance. The camp site is about a 15 minute drive from the gate,,and no services are available on base unless you have military personnel or retirees with valid ID.
