Wingate Campground Reviews
Wingate is a great place to camp. Electric hookups but not water or sewer. They do have a dump station onsite with non-potable water.
Feb 19, 2025 · Andrew ChadwickNice campground located in Dead Horse Point State Park. Staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds and bathrooms are spotless. Electric at site and dump station on the property. Water for cleaning dishes, showers and drinking is only available at the restrooms. Water is scarce in this desert environment.I would highly recommend this facility to big rigs, tent camping or rental of their clean, air conditioned yurts.
Jul 24, 2024 · ron goralExcellent campsite for one night, after spending the day in Canyonlands and the state park. Bathrooms were clean and heated, and campground was quiet. Hiking trails leading to the canyon rim directly from the campground were a huge bonus, and something we took advantage of for the afternoon of our stay.Ice cream for sale at the Visitor’s Center was also great!
Jan 11, 2024 · Claire GuyerBeautiful, clean campground and tent camping spots with views of the mountains and the Colorado river. We stayed at Wingate for a week and will definitely be back. Our campsite was a walk in spot #36 in Wingate. Our spot was well maintained and had a nice sun shelter with a picnic table to beat the heat and shield from the wind during the day/night. The bathrooms had running water with a sink and a flush toilet and a dishwashing sink nearby. The closest bathroom to us at our walk in spot was a pit toilet, but the flushable toilet was a very short walk to get to. The visitors center also had wifi if needed since there is no service in or near the park and it had lot of food, firewood and ice available as well as wonderful views and shady spots to enjoy a snack or lunch. Wingate campground also had the West rim trail offshoot located right from the campground and we were able to take the trail and enjoy amazing sunsets in complete solitude. Overall, an amazing experience and nicely maintained campground and park with friendly staff. We will definitely camp here again. It's so close to arches and canyonlands it's a central location to visit the parks in Utah. The only negative is that they don't have showers and the nearest showering facility to the campground is in Moab, but they are very upfront about that when booking and we knew this ahead of time, you just need to plan ahead. Also, our spot was very windy due to its location near the gorge, but when the winds weren't very high the view and are camping spot was pretty unbeatable.
May 25, 2025 · Holly MurphyStayed 2 nights in site 50 in April in an RV. The views of the la sal mountains were fabulous, maybe the best in the campground. Really nice individual restrooms with flush toilets and warm water in sinks. Dish washing station for tenters. Hiking and mountain biking trails right from campground. Visitor center super close too. Dump station but no fresh water refills for RVs. Sites have electric. Top notch campground. Will absolutely come back.
