Windmill Campground Reviews
We made our reservations 6 months in advance only to pull in and find our reserved spot had been given away. After a phone call to the after hours management we were told that he gave our spot away because he mistakenly thought we canceled. (We did not.) We were then directed to the only remaining spot that didn’t even fit our camper and was very uneven and soft that looked like it was a drainage ditch. (see pictures)I had a reservation here for our return trip but promptly canceled and found a different campground. I would not recommend this campground and will not ever plan on staying here again.
Jun 11, 2023 · Andrea JobeMy wife and I have been here for about 3 months now and honestly this has been a fantastic campground. You can barely hear the interstate from where our camper is parked. The staff has been awesome and very quick to fix any problems. Pet friendly and no trouble makers. All the spots are gravel and the owner is fast at putting down fresh . Water pressure has been great and so has the sewer (no smells). Short drive to the store and to town. 10/10 great place to stay.
Sep 08, 2022 · Magic PotatoWe stayed here for 2.5 weeks while switching our titles and drivers license to SD residents. They were so nice! We had to delay our arrival one day due to my husband back injury, and they were so great and understanding! We stayed in campsite 10. It was so nice. Lots of tree coverage and very quiet. We loved how quiet the campground was. The ladies in the office were so great and very nice. We were actually sad to leave, as we would have liked to have stayed longer. But had to move to our next destination. Highly recommended Windmill campground!
Sep 12, 2022 · Andrea LawrenceWorst campground we’ve ever stayed at. In a word… creepy. Looks like campers here are full time residents and many of the sites are not cared for. Small uneven sites, lots of highway noise, mosquitoes. No one manning the office. Campground appears to be for sale.
Aug 31, 2024 · Laurie HoltanThe ladies in the office are very sweet. There were hot and clean showers, a laundry facility, a playground, and full hookup sites of decent size! Many kids and full-time rv people, in a quiet little town. Oh, and the wifi was excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay!
