Wilmington KOA Holiday Reviews
We recently stayed here and it was great. We had one of the deluxe cabins. Included fridge, microwave, coffee maker, bathroom and shower. All linens were there and towels and wash cloths. Very quiet place with a great staff. We did have a minor problem with the septic system but the maintenance team were and had it fixed quickly. Hats off to those guys. By the way, it was definitely pet friendly. Our Malamute loved sleeping under the bunk beds.
Jun 18, 2025 · Reggie TaylorIt is a typical KOA in regards to your neighbors being close. However, this facility is extremely clean and while taking care of with a good amount of staff members. They have wonderful well appointed cabins, and the individual campsites are well groomed, maintained and appointed. The staff is ridiculously friendly and helpful. Not to mention a smoothie shop on site that is worth popping in just to get the smoothie. There is an RV camper wash just outside the property. The location is just north of Wilmington, but so close you could almost walk to events.
May 16, 2025 · Andrew HarrisI can't comment on the "rooms" or cabins because I camped. The site was huge, tons of rooms to spread my wings. The amenities were beautiful. Although it was too cold to swim the pool is pristine. The restrooms and showers were very nice and clean. The playground has tons of stuff for kids and even adults to enjoy. The fairy village is adorable!
Apr 03, 2025 · Shannon SullivanWhat a wonderful place! This was our first trip in our very first camper, and naturally, I was anxious about how it would all go. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an escort who took us to our reserved spot. Our escort, Bubba, was absolutely great. He guided us to our spot and helped us back in, which significantly lowered my anxiety. When I mentioned it was our first time, he assured us to call if we needed anything, had questions, or required a helping hand. I couldn't have been more pleased with the check-in process and getting set up; it was all a breeze.Once we were set up, we took our dogs for a walk and explored the property. Wow, what a beautiful place with so much to do! We saw kids playing, riding bikes, playing basketball, and swimming at the pool. We walked our dogs to the pup park and were pleasantly surprised by its size. It was great to let them off-leash and watch them run and play. We appreciated that people waited until we left the dog park before entering with their dogs or asked if they could join us. Our dogs loved running off some energy. In the morning, we walked the trail to the local coffee shop, which was a nice added bonus. Everyone we encountered was super nice, and the campground and facilities were very clean and well-maintained. We stayed in Paw Pen Site #86. Highly recommend KOA Wilmington – we WILL be back!
May 20, 2025 · Clint ShedrickStayed in a cabin with no inside cooking, grill outside. Overall nice location and space. Enjoyed walking to coffee shop right outside Campgrounds. Next to Papa John's, gas station, and stocked campstore. Amenities were all maintained and nice, Scavenger Hunt was fun. Rec. CampersApp download for Scavenger Hunt.Location is next to an outdoor concert area of some sort. Concert music could be heard most of our day Sat. Wasn't an issue once inside cabin. Mild annoyance to our experience.Water heater provided barely one hot shower per time. Water smells, well filtration needed terribly. Bought bottled water for drinking/cooking use. Bathroom smells like overflows or missed bathroom uses over time, like floor has absorbed bathroom odor. Had fan on whole weekend, sprayed often, kept door closed, on occasion smelled in living room area.Pet gating does not contain small breeds, they can escape through.Would not stay in cabins in future, would entertain bringing camper trailer if needing a place in area. For price point, might just find a hotel room.
