Willow Campground

Campground ★4.0

Willow Campground Rd, Laketown, UT 84038, USA

4.0
Unkind camp hostsWhen we arrived, we were let in without issue, as our reservation had already been paid for online. We were the second vehicle on our site, which matched the 2-vehicle limit listed in our reservation. As we began setting up our tent, the camp host approached and informed us that we needed to pay an additional fee because the website was outdated. Though confused, we appreciated him taking the time to explain and told him we would go pay after finishing setting up our tent—he said that was fine, and that the office was open until 9 p.m.Not even 10 minutes later, another staff member (his wife, Debbie) approached us with a completely different tone. She was aggressive, rude, and immediately demanded to inspect our vehicle stickers (which we had). When we attempted to explain that we had just spoken with her husband and intended to pay after finishing set-up (as he permitted), she dismissed us and insisted we pay immediately, speaking to us in a condescending and belittling way.We did go pay the fee, though the experience left a sour impression. We later spoke to other guests who mentioned they weren’t asked to pay the same fee—and many shared similar frustrations about interactions with this couple. Such as being told not to ride e-bikes, or walk their dogs. It’s disheartening to hear that what was once a peaceful and welcoming campground has become a tense and uncomfortable place due to how some staff treat guests. That said, the facilities were clean, and the bathrooms had running water. There was cute cows nearby as well. But overall, the hostile atmosphere created by staff—especially Debbie—made it hard to enjoy our stay. I hope the management addressing this going forward, as the location itself has great potential. - Mic
