4.0
Beautiful campground with decent space between camp sites, a wonderful day use area, and several hikes within a 10 minute drive of Quinault Lake. Bathrooms are well maintained, campsites are relatively large and some have amazing views. We stayed for three nights and had no issues. Great place to unplug and unwind and only a few hours from both Seattle and Portland. Highly recommend! ✌🏾 - sean kp

Location and Accessibility

Willaby Campground is ideally situated at S Shore Rd, Quinault, WA 98575, USA. This prime location places it directly on the southern shores of picturesque Lake Quinault, a jewel nestled within the temperate rainforest of the Olympic National Forest. The campground's setting is characterized by lush old-growth trees like Sitka spruce, Douglas-fir, western hemlock, and western red cedar, providing a dense, cooling canopy and a genuine rainforest experience.

Accessibility to Willaby Campground is relatively straightforward for Washington residents. From major urban centers like Seattle and Portland, it's typically only a "few hours" drive, making it a convenient destination for weekend getaways or longer vacations. The journey involves navigating to Highway 101, then taking South Shore Road directly to the campground, ensuring a scenic approach. Once at the campground, its design allows for easy access to campsites, with some sites offering direct "easy access to the beach for a swim." The proximity to Lake Quinault is a major advantage, providing opportunities for boating, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing right from the campground's vicinity (permits from the Quinault Indian Nation may be required for motorized vessels or fishing on the lake).
