Wild Turkey Ridge Campground Reviews
This is a review of spot 140. I think there were other places I would have given a 5.These basic sites were fairly spread out and interspersed with trees. Most had a good view do the lake!!Our campsite did not have adequate flat space to pitch tents. We went several yards into the woods for a mostly not-rocky, mostly level place. We were still sleeping on a significant incline, which matters if you are on a cot and sleeping bag! There were for sure wild turkeys at our campground. I think they were roosting in trees above us! That’s really cool. The pavement was smooth and safe. The picnic table was pretty mildewy- needed a table cloth. There were big ants everywhere. This made it difficult to enjoy eating, sitting around campfire, etc since they crawled up your leg and up chairs. The night sky was BREATHTAKING- felt like we were in a truly minimal light pollution area. We laid flat on a picnic blanket and enjoyed the Milky Way…Until ants crawled all over us! 🤪The shower houses were basic and clean.I was surprised to see laundry facilities!
October 08 · Bethany HaidThis campground was great and I have no complaints about the campground itself, but there is no way to contact a ranger. We were next to a group that was screaming and yelling until about 2 AM and had no way to contact anyone.
August 10 · Sloane DeterdingGreat place water clarity is awesome great fishing. I had great luck on jointed n flicker shad. With bright blue n white. Tent spots are clean n well spaced. Love that most have access to quiet hidden shoreline.Shower house was actually quite clean n the water was hot.4 stars because the trails could use a little more maintenance n more warning about the apocalyptic ticks n chiggers. And it was a bit difficult 5o set up a tent without being on rocks. N they only sell fire wood from 5 to 7.
July 16 · andrew timminsWe came to stay only for one night while we were moving to MO. After a long drive it was great to see the park had very nice amenities. Showers were very clean along with the restrooms. Lots of water, swimming, fishing and a good size pad to park or camp
