This places it at the South end of Alta Lake, a mere mile beyond Alta Lake State Park, offering convenient access to the lake's amenities while maintaining its own distinct, private feel. Pateros is a charming town located in the scenic Methow Valley, nestled at the confluence of the Methow and Columbia Rivers, and not far from the popular Lake Chelan area.
Accessibility to Whistlin' Pine Ranch is generally straightforward. Pateros is reachable via US-97, a major north-south highway in Washington. The fact that this is a fourth-generation ranch with healthy, well-cared-for horses and experienced guides (including a National Champion Mounted Shooter!) means that you're not just getting a trail ride; you're getting an authentic, memorable interaction with these magnificent animals and the rich ranching heritage of our state. Whether you're a seasoned rider or introducing your kids to horses for the first time, this unique offering provides a truly engaging activity that creates lasting family memories.

Whistlin' Pine Ranch Reviews
Tara is a wonderful host. The camp sites are more isolated then usual camp grounds which we like. Running water was available to wash dishes and such. We were able to get out and paddle on the lake ever day. Tons of fish, birds turtles and wildlife. The horse back ride was awesome and want to go back for the longer ride. We did go down the road to shower at the state park and noticed how clean it was but also how close the camp sites were to each other there. We enjoyed going back to our isolated tent at Whistlin Pine Ranch. Thanks again Tara.
Jul 27, 2024 · John CornellMy family came to Lake Chelan area for spring break and were looking for horseback riding options in the area. Most suggestions were for Leavenworth or Stehekin (too far away), but luckily we found this place. It’s a 4th generation ranch, that is gorgeous! My kids and I range from little horse exposure to experienced rider and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The horses are healthy, happy and well cared for. The owner-is great and we learned she is a National Champion Mounted Shooter. Both kids asked if we could do it again next time we are in the area! Thanks for a great time, would definitely recommend riding here, the untouched beauty is amazing!
