We also took our camper there a few times two years ago. They offer firewood and other items for sale if you need them. Guests are even allowed to visit even without staying the night on the grounds. Playground for kids, kayak rentals, and beach access! They offer cabins as well and have bathrooms with showers for the campers in tents.T18 is the best tent site big enough for a couple families! This one includes water and electric hookups.
June 05 · Andrea MakayWe just camped there for the holiday weekend. The weather had been less then pleasant before we had arrived, so everything was wet and swampy. We knew this going into our trip, because we traveled 4+ hours in the rain and before we arrived the campground called us to tell us how wet it was. When we arrived and checked in they were very pleasant. We waited to be parked by the owner, and he told us we had one chance to park because he didn't want to tear up his grass. His attitude was less then pleasantHe was made at how we parked the camper, but we had never been there before and were following his lead. He snapped at me when when I was hooking up the water and told me that I didn't to filter the water because he had the best water around. The water is gravity feed and the water pressuer os really poor. We ended up filling our water tank and using the water pump to obtain enough water pressure. After the first 30 mins at the campground I wanted to leave.I understand that everyone has bad days, but I recommend that you nicer to you campers who pay your bills. If you are so worried about the grass then spend some money and put stone down where you want the campers to park. The sad thing is the campground and view was beautiful, but we wouldn't go back just because of the owner.
May 26 · Kim PraskovichWe recently visited Virginia's Beach Cottages and Camping. Our visit was Monday through Wednesday and we found it to be extremely nice. The campground was quiet, well kept and clean. The views of the lake and accessibility to the beach are terrific! The owners are kind and accommodating and the other campers were all very friendly. We stayed at site T18 which is very large and spacious. Virginia's is a wonderful spot and we will make a point to return.
August 15 · michael arnoldI read a lot of the negative comments and disagreed with them wholeheartedly. The beach although rocky is marked well that it's at your own risk which I was happy to take it was a great swim. Our cabin was great and the water was hot. WiFi worked great for my music by the fire pit. Customer service was great. They were very nice people and even other patrons would say hi. We didn't use the playground to much but my kids loved running and playing in dirt and finding ways to have fun. Wood was well priced burned good. I decided to keep the cabin clean as possible and surrounding area so they wouldn't have to do as much because they have a lot to look after. I did not hear trains but don't mind them I'm used to them. Would definitely recommend to others and plan to visit again.
July 10 · Keith TevisWe stayed in our tent, so I didn't rate rooms.First camping trip in 25+ years and a very first camping trip for our friends, who are a young family of 5. After driving 2 1/2 hours, we had a very disappointing experience with Sara's Campground, and we decided to look for another campground nearby. We called Virginia's Beach for information and decided to give it a try.It was a very pleasant experience from the phone call till the end of our stay.We loved the spacious lots, large trees, the beach, etc. Well worth the drive for us. We will definitely be returning (with our dogs the next time) and are also planning a yearly group camping trip.
