Van Buren State Park Campground Reviews
The Van Buren state park campgrounds are somewhat isolated from the rest of the park. They offer both family and horse camping. These sites were nice size and well-maintained. Some sites did have electric and paved areas. All sites seem to be fairly level.
Jul 01, 2023 · ray weithmanBeautiful campground, well patrolled and maintained! Sites are clearly numbered and easy to find. Walking trail directly to the beach 🏖️
May 15, 2025 · Alexis HavensBeautiful campgrounds as you come to expect with the michigan state parks. Clean restrooms and showers. Only issue is a power plant across the road that has some kind of turbines or motors that fire up and are loud. Not unbearable by any means but not the quiet campground evening you may desire. If you have a group and talk a lot or are chasing the kids around you wouldn't notice it.
Aug 20, 2024 · John HowardSo cute and peaceful. Lots of hiking trails. Level parking spot and some are paved. The bathrooms are very clean and don't smell.
Aug 06, 2022 · Adrienne BreznauVan Buren State Park Campground is a small and simple place for a nice long weekend. Some sites have power, but many do not, and there are only pit toilets and no shower houses, so be prepared for the lack of amenities.Half of the sites are equestrian campsites as well. I didn't check with the part to see if you were limited to only renting those sites if you had horses, so you might want to check with them. There are beautiful hiking trails and a lovely reservoir for kayaking. Fishing wasn't great, as we found the entire lake created by the dam was only a few feet deep.Overall, it's a nice place close to home. I'll likely spend more long weekends there, but it won't be a destination for my family.
