Utah Lake State Park Group Campground Introduce
The Utah Lake State Park Group Campground, located conveniently in Provo, offers a unique opportunity for large groups and families to gather and enjoy the natural beauty of Utah Lake. As a destination, it provides a very practical and accessible option for locals looking for a quick and easy getaway. The campground itself is situated on the shores of Utah Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the state, offering a distinctively different camping experience than the mountain retreats Utah is known for. With its full-service amenities and proximity to urban centers, it serves as a central hub for those who want to experience lakeside recreation and still have the comforts of a developed park. While some of the reviews highlight challenges with insects and cleanliness, many visitors still find it to be a valuable and enjoyable place for their gatherings. The park provides a great launching point for a variety of activities, from boating and fishing on the lake to picnics and gatherings on the shore, making it a versatile choice for a memorable outing.
The camping experience at Utah Lake State Park is, at its core, centered around the lake itself. The sites are generally spacious and equipped with the basics for a comfortable stay. One of the main draws is the ability to enjoy the water, which, despite occasional challenges with algae blooms or low water levels, is a major source of recreation. Visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, and paddle sports. The campground's location also offers stunning views of the Wasatch Front mountains, especially during sunrise and sunset, providing a picturesque backdrop for your stay. For those who are well-prepared for the environment, especially with regard to managing insects, the overall experience can be quite pleasant. The park's amenities are designed to support a wide range of visitors, from those in RVs to those in tents, ensuring that everyone can find a way to enjoy their time.
For many locals, Utah Lake State Park is a beloved resource that provides an easy escape. While the reviews from customers highlight some valid concerns about the bugs and sometimes a lack of attention to cleanliness, these issues often fluctuate with the seasons and can be managed with proper preparation. The peace and quiet, combined with the scenic views and the variety of things to do, make it a good value for those who know what to expect. It's a place for making memories by the water, whether you're having a group picnic or simply relaxing with family.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Bugs gone wild! There are so many swarms everywhere. If you’re okay with the bugs, very lovely overall camp experience but there’s something so unsettling about not seeing a swarm and hearing the buzz of 10,000 friendly bugs in your ears that will have me booking elsewhere.
June 17 · Emily RaberSooooooo much trash!!!! I’ll never understand why or how a civilized society can leave their garbage on the groundDisgusting
July 13 · M C MayBugs are horrible! Water is gross and murky. Trash all over the beach area. People let their dogs use the restroom all over the beach and near the water, weren't picking up after them. People swimming and fishing off the docks, where only boats should be. Bathrooms weren't clean. Unless you're staying on the lake the entire time, would not recommend.
July 08 · A PWe love kayaking and swimming at the lake. They have a few covered tables and bathrooms! The water is really shallow so it's safer for kids to play on the water.
May 17 · Joey JohnsonVery nice, and well maintained facilities. Water and electricity provided at each site. View is incredible. I would definitely stay here again!
