Beautiful, mostly tree lined, well maintained gravel road, descending 2,000 ft from the US 180 turn off near Alpine. Impressive red rock canyons reminiscent of Sedona and Oak creek Canyon.Small well spaced campground with two log covered lean to’s on concrete slab. The third campsite had no cover. The campground had a clean but primitive privy.
August 28 · Larry E. MenestrinaNothing but flies. The “river” is a pretty much fully dried up creek. Beautiful country but if you’re wanting to eat your food without having to fight off 20 flies, look elsewhere. I counted 8 flies just sitting on my dog who was trying to sleep. Pretty sure the locals from Blue burry their trash and skin their animals at all the camping spots up here because that’s all we found in the area whether it was at a dispersed camping spot or the camp grounds. For a national forrest this place seems to be neglected.
July 09 · KamAbsolutely loved this place. There is a lil river just down from the camp sites. I like the open cabin they have here as well. We picked up a lot of trash here, people leaving their trash behind. Pack it in, pack it out please.
April 27 · Rippy WilliamsSince it has been upgraded it is a great campground. Great scenery along the creek. Great birding the last of April on. Can't wait to return. Running water in campground, but not drinkable.
April 10 · Brian HeapVery Beautiful and Safe. Clean bathrooms. The entire family loved it and had so much fun. Can't wait to go back again.
