We come here all the time, fun, fishing, crabbing, boat docks, swimming, arcade, put put golf and golf cart friendly roads makes this place a hoot. For some stuff you need a key card you can get if you are a resident or close friends and can use theirs 😁😉, if not I believe you can access certain things like the pool by talking to the office. With that said there's plenty of camping, fishing and boating for those with them as well as a nice playground to do with no card needed. There are bath houses everywhere so if you camp by tent you still have a shower and bathroom just bring your own soap and towel 😉 I also recommend if you bring or rent a golf cart for this trip that you spend time looking around at all the amazing things people have done to the bought properties and the small but great businesses some have set up. You can order crabs for lunch and pick up fire wood just by riding the roads in trails end. - Rebecca Delawder

Promotions or Special Offers

As a unique blend of a campground and a private, gated community where many sites are individually owned, Trails End's "promotions" may differ from typical daily-rate campgrounds. While specific, short-term promotional codes are not provided in the reviews, here's what Virginians can likely expect in terms of value or special considerations:

  • Seasonal/Annual Site Ownership: For those who "come here all the time," the option to own a site (or potentially secure a long-term rental) offers significant value. This would likely come with a guaranteed spot, community membership benefits, and a discounted yearly rate compared to transient daily rates, fostering a true "home away from home" experience.

  • Access to Exclusive Amenities: While not a discount, the review mentions that "for some stuff you need a key card you can get if you are a resident or close friends and can use theirs," or by "talking to the office." This implies that residents or long-term guests might have enhanced access to certain premium facilities (e.g., specific pool hours, private areas), which is a form of value for committed visitors.

  • Value of In-Community Services: The presence of "small but great businesses" run by residents within the community (like ordering crabs or buying firewood) offers incredible convenience. While these services have a cost, the ability to access them without leaving the grounds adds significant value to the overall stay.

  • Family-Oriented Pricing: Many family-focused campgrounds inherently offer good value by providing numerous free on-site activities (playground, fishing, crabbing, mini-golf, general community areas) included in the base camping fee, maximizing entertainment for the whole family without constant extra expenses.

For transient campers or those considering a first-time visit, it is always recommended to contact Trails End Campground directly to inquire about their current nightly, weekly, or monthly rates, and to understand any specific policies regarding access to amenities or available rental sites. For those interested in becoming a resident or securing a seasonal spot, direct inquiry with the association would be necessary.
