Camping in our beautiful state offers a quintessential experience, whether you’re seeking adventure on rugged trails or peaceful moments by the water. A campground provides dedicated spaces for various forms of outdoor lodging, from RVs with full hookups to traditional tent sites, often complemented by amenities that enhance the natural setting. Maine's diverse landscapes, from its majestic mountains to its stunning coastline and serene inland lakes, offer a wide array of camping opportunities to suit every preference.
When choosing a campground in Maine, it’s essential to consider its unique features, accessibility, and the overall atmosphere it provides. One such scenic destination in Aroostook County is Trafton Lake Campground, located in Limestone. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of what makes Trafton Lake Campground a compelling option for local Maine residents, highlighting its amenities and the experience it offers.

With its direct access to Trafton Lake, the campground is particularly appealing for water-based recreation, while also serving as a gateway to extensive land trails for ATV riders and hikers. The campground's proximity to the Canadian border also adds an interesting geographical element, though crossing it requires proper documentation. Trafton Lake Campground Reviews
Very senic! Water 💦 looks clean. Small beach 🏖️ area provided, but, no lifeguard. David Hasselhoff won't come to your rescue if your in trouble! 🐕 dogs allowed. ⛵ boat launch available. Only loud sound I heard was farm equipment since the lake is right next to farmland. Trails and campsight next to lake as well. Bathrooms were closed. Playground, tables and grills available. Swimming allowed. You, I believe, are not far from the Canadian border. Plenty of parking.Very out of the way, but if you can visit, especially during the summer, I recommend it.

Jul 21, 2024 · Marilyne IrelandWe have been returning customers for a couple of years now. Last year customers were promised wifi haven't see that happen, this year same thing but now we don't have access to the shower house or laundry facility. Mowing isnt being kept up with, so im assuming ticks will be higher this year, pay attention to your pets. RVs pay 950 and tents pay 450 (no electricity for tents) for no promised amenities. Myself and another customer are paying to keep traftons port a potty clean so we can use it. Tent sites no longer have picnic tables either, another broken promise. Will not be returning next year a lot of returning customers have already not came back this year. Highly disappointed with how people are being treated
Jun 13, 2023 · Ashlee IveyTook a vacation to Maine to visit a friend i haven't seen in yrs and spotted this campground close to where he lived, i read past reviews and wasn't to happy with the comments but since it was close to my friends home i gave it a shot, called to see if there was a spot with one of the managers ,he was very polite, answered all my questions and before i knew was on my way up to stay September 22nd to the 26th,when i got there i was blown away, was so pieceful, the spots were level and clean with a picnic table and fire pit, also full hook up included in the$45.00 a night rental, both managers were very friendly and are there at just a call if needed,i went to clear my head from all the stress ive been having at work, if you need a place to kick back relax and destress go to tafton lake, i will recommend to anyone and everyone, and the driving around seeing all the open land not built on or being farmed on is awesome, the drive was long ,10 hrs coming from Connecticut but believe me it was worth it and tafton lake thank you for such a great place to relax in piece ,keep up the great job making it better as you see fit,and i see me coming back again.wishing there was 10 stars to give they deserve it they have definitely improved from the year ago reviews, again thank you tafton lake 10 stars for you
Sep 27, 2024 · ThomasThe place is a dump. Unsurprising, considering all the town's income goes to the school, and places like the lake get overlooked. The water is gnarly, and there's trash throughout the trails due to the hillbillies and their kids and pitbulls shacking up here in their trailers all summer long. Playground equipment looks like it came out of the Soviet Union, covered in rust and in utter disrepair. Gets a nice coat of paint one day out of the year on July 4th though, and that's the only reason why it's not 1 star.
