Tonasket Chamber of Commerce RV Park Introduce
For Washingtonians exploring the scenic byways of North Central Washington or making their way to the Canadian border, the Tonasket Chamber of Commerce RV Park offers a convenient and increasingly welcoming stop. This isn't a sprawling resort, but rather a practical and budget-friendly campground that serves as an excellent base for a quick overnight stay or a longer exploration of the Okanogan Valley. What makes this spot particularly appealing to locals is its direct access to the small-town charm of Tonasket and its recent improvements, making it a reliable choice for those on the go.
Managed by the Tonasket Chamber of Commerce, this RV park embodies a community-focused approach to hospitality. While some older reviews may mention it being a bit "run down" in the past, recent changes in management and ongoing efforts to "fix things up" indicate a renewed commitment to providing a pleasant experience. For RVers seeking full hookups at an affordable price, or tent campers looking for a simple spot with town conveniences nearby, the Tonasket Chamber of Commerce RV Park proves to be a valuable asset. Let's delve into the details of what makes this RV park a suitable choice for your next Washington adventure.
The Tonasket Chamber of Commerce RV Park is strategically located at 7 North Western Ave., Tonasket, WA 98855, USA. This places it in the heart of Tonasket, a small town in Okanogan County, North Central Washington. Its address is notable for its excellent proximity to U.S. Route 97, a major north-south highway that serves as a direct route to the Canadian border, making it an ideal stop for travelers heading to or from Canada.
Accessibility is a key advantage of this RV park. It’s situated "immediately off of main road through town," ensuring "easy access" for RVs and trailers, as noted by visitors. While some past reviews hinted at potential noise from traffic due to its proximity to the highway, the convenience of being right in town often outweighs this for those seeking easy access to amenities. The park is nestled in the northwest area of Tonasket, near the corporate limits, bounded on the west by the Columbia-Cascade Railroad, on the north by Winesap Street, on the south by industrial property, and on the east by Western Ave.
Furthermore, its central location within Tonasket means that many town conveniences are "within walking distance." This walkability is a significant benefit for campers who prefer to leave their vehicles parked and explore on foot. This ease of access and central positioning truly highlights its suitability for Washingtonians passing through or exploring the scenic Okanogan Valley.
The Tonasket Chamber of Commerce RV Park provides essential services focused on offering a convenient and affordable stay, particularly for RV travelers. While not a full-service resort, its offerings are practical and well-suited for its purpose.
RV Sites with Full Hookups: The park offers 6-8 individual RV sites. These are typically gravel or dirt pads equipped with full hookups, including water, electric (30/50 AMP available), and sewer connections. This is a significant convenience, especially for longer stays or for those needing to recharge on a journey. Sites are designed as back-in spaces, and some older reviews mentioned that hookups might be on the "wrong side" for certain rigs, requiring longer hoses.
Tent Camping Area: For those preferring a more traditional camping experience, there is a designated "serene yard perfect for tenting." It's important to note that tent sites typically do not have direct hookups for water or electricity, requiring a more rustic approach.
Dump Station: A separate dump station is available on-site. This service is accessible for a small fee even for those not staying overnight, making it a valuable resource for passing RVers.
Potable Water Access: Water is available for guests, and for a small fee, it can also be accessed by non-guests, providing a convenient fill-up point.
Restrooms (Limited/Portable): While some reviews indicate "no bathrooms or showers," a more recent review noted a "porta potty on site." This suggests basic toilet facilities may be available, though campers should manage expectations for full-service restrooms.
Proximity to Town Amenities: A major "service" is the park's excellent location. Directly across the street, campers will find a grocery store and a pub/restaurant. Within walking distance are two grocery stores, various shops, other restaurants (including a Mexican restaurant), and a coffee/ice cream drive-thru. A laundromat with showers is also a short drive away (approx. 3 minutes).
Affordable Pricing: The park is noted for its "cheap price," with daily rates often around $30-35 for full hookup RV sites and even lower for tent sites (e.g., $8/night in past reviews). Weekly and monthly rates are also offered, providing cost-effective extended stay options.
Pet-Friendly: The park generally welcomes pets, allowing Washingtonians to travel with their furry companions.
The Tonasket Chamber of Commerce RV Park, while compact, offers several appealing features and highlights that make it a practical and welcoming choice for campers in Washington.
Unbeatable Convenience and Walkability: This is arguably the top highlight. Being "right in town" means campers can easily walk to essential services like grocery stores, restaurants, and local shops. This removes the need to unhook an RV for errands, which is a significant convenience for travelers.
Budget-Friendly Full Hookups: Offering full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 AMP electricity) for RVs at a price point of around $30-35 is a major draw, especially for those seeking value on their journey through Washington. This makes it an excellent choice for a quick, affordable overnight stop.
Ideal for Overnight Stays/Travelers to Canada: Its strategic location directly off US 97 makes it "perfect for a quick overnight on the way to Canada." Many visitors utilize it as a convenient staging point before or after crossing the border.
Under New Management and Improving: The most encouraging highlight is the news that a "new couple has taken over" and the park is "getting fixed up." This indicates a positive trajectory for improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest experience, addressing past criticisms.
Local Community Connection: Being run by the Chamber of Commerce, the park likely has a direct connection to the local Tonasket community. This could translate to a friendly, small-town atmosphere and potential access to local information or events (like the mention of a farmer's market nearby).
Small and Quiet Atmosphere (Often): While close to the highway, the park's compact size (8 RV sites) means it's generally not "super overpopulated." Many find it a "nice little park" that offers a quiet overnight stay, especially when it's not fully booked.
Flexible for RVs and Tents: The ability to accommodate both full-service RVs and tent campers in a grassy area adds to its versatility, catering to different camping preferences.

Tonasket Chamber of Commerce RV Park Reviews
Used to be a very old guy running it so got a bit run down. A new couple has taken over so getting fixed up. For tenting there’s no hydro ,water or shower but grocery store and pub across the street. Cheap price.
Jun 08, 2025 · NoNoCanadianPerfect for a quick overnight on the way to Canada. Full hookups for $30. Easy access. Dump station and water available for small fee if not spending the night.
Apr 12, 2022 · Denise FisherNice park for a stop over, easy walk to town and restaurant across the street, porta potty on site. My only issue was that the water was locked, so we could only use electric and sewer. There is a coffee shop on the left side going into town that has delicious cinnamon rolls! I'd stop again, esp for the rolls!
Jul 13, 2023 · Tom CrombieThis place is in pretty good shape, but appears to be going through some sort of transition. No management was here when we arrived. We just picked a site and set up. Talked with someone who was already here and they hadn’t seen a manger either. I’ll pay my net balance at the end. I fear for this park as it won’t take long for squatters to find it.
Jul 29, 2023 · Gregg ThompsonThis is a well run, small campsite on the edge of Tonasket. There are only 7 RV campsites around 25 bucks a night with weekly and monthly rates, with a few extra tent sites. We arrived late, as usual, in our 32' motorhome towing the Harley on a trailer, it was about 10:30 pm. The campsite manager Steve waited for us and his service was nothing less than stellar. Steve helped us as we unloaded the bike and guided us as we backed in. We had some kind of electrical challenge with our plug in and he assisted us until we got it repaired, even going to his home and back to retrieve a volt meter for us. We finally got settled in at about 11:30 pm and Steve said goodnight. Make sure you call ahead for reservations, they bookup quick in the summer months due to the fire fighters using the campgrounds during the fire season. There is a good grocery store across the street and a small farmers market every Thursdays. Save your appetite for the fresh tamales that they offer at the farmers market. Yummy. They also have fresh veg, honey, latino drinks and small batch preserves. We stay at this campsite everytime we go to Tonasket cause we have friends nearby and we like to ride in the mountains, no traffic, and visit the Cheesaw Tavern for a couple drinks and a nosh. Tonasket is a small town and everything closes down early. You may get lucky one day and see Jack Black walking around his home town :)We love us some Jack Black! Aka, Nacho Libre.
