Timberline Glamping Sarasota is ideally situated at 1843 S Tamiami Trl, Osprey, FL 34229, USA. This address places it directly within the boundaries of Oscar Scherer State Park, a sprawling natural oasis located just south of Sarasota and north of Venice. For Floridians, its location offers exceptional accessibility, being conveniently located directly off South Tamiami Trail (US 41), a major north-south artery on Florida's Gulf Coast.
The park's proximity to Sarasota ensures that guests have easy access to urban amenities, including diverse dining options, shopping centers, and cultural attractions, while still enjoying the secluded feeling of a state park. This blend of natural immersion and practical convenience is highly valued by locals seeking a quick escape without extensive travel.
Furthermore, Oscar Scherer State Park itself provides excellent internal accessibility. Within the park, you'll find well-maintained roads and trails that lead to various points of interest, including Lake Osprey, South Creek, and connections to the Legacy Trail. This integrated access means that once you arrive at Timberline Glamping, you're seamlessly connected to a wealth of outdoor activities, all within easy reach of your luxurious tent.
Timberline Glamping Sarasota prides itself on offering a comprehensive suite of services and amenities designed to provide a truly "glamorous camping" experience. These services eliminate the typical inconveniences of traditional camping, allowing guests to fully relax and enjoy their stay.
- Fully Furnished Safari Tents: Each glamping tent is extra spacious (e.g., 320 sq ft Deluxe Safari Tents) and completely furnished, providing a luxurious living space. This includes real beds (King, Queen, or bunk beds depending on tent type), plush bedding, and comfortable seating.
- Climate Control (AC & Heating): A significant highlight, especially for Florida's climate, is the inclusion of both air conditioning and heating units within each tent. This ensures comfort regardless of the outdoor temperature, making glamping enjoyable year-round. While not as powerful as home units, they effectively "take the edge off."
- Private Outdoor Space: Each glampsite comes with its own private outdoor area. This typically includes a large gravel site, a wood fire pit for campfires, a charcoal grill with a cooking grate, a picnic table, and string lights, creating a cozy ambiance for evenings.
- Mini-Refrigerator & Coffee Maker: Inside the tent, guests will find a mini-refrigerator for keeping drinks and snacks cool, and a Keurig coffee maker with complimentary K-Cup pods, allowing for a fresh cup of coffee each morning.
- Electrical Outlets: Tents are equipped with electrical outlets, allowing guests to charge devices and power small appliances, maintaining a connection to modern conveniences.
- Shared Bathhouse Access: While tents do not have private bathrooms, there is a shared bathhouse with restrooms and showers located a very short walk from the glampsites. These facilities are maintained by the park staff for cleanliness.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: Timberline Glamping Sarasota welcomes "furry Glampers" for an additional pet fee, allowing guests to bring their beloved pets along for the adventure, though pets should not be left alone in tents unless properly crated.
- Optional Add-Ons: Guests can enhance their stay with various add-ons, which may include pop-up gazebos for extra shade, bicycle rentals for exploring the park, and outdoor games like cornhole and Jenga.
Timberline Glamping Sarasota stands out with several key features and highlights that define its unique appeal for Florida locals, blending outdoor adventure with upscale comfort.
- Luxurious & Equipped Safari Tents: The core highlight is the safari tent experience itself. These aren't just tents; they are thoughtfully designed accommodations with hardwood floors, rugs, comfortable beds, ample pillows, blankets, and even a diffuser. This level of comfort transforms the "camping" experience into something truly glamorous.
- Effective Climate Control in Tents: As noted by guests, the AC in the tents, even during Florida's hot summer months, makes a significant difference, providing a comfortable sleeping environment. While daytime warmth is expected, the ability to cool down at night is a major plus.
- Prime Waterfront Sites (19 & 20): Sites 19 and 20 are particularly highlighted as prime spots, being waterfront locations. Site 20 is noted as "noticeably larger than the others and offers the most outdoor space," making it highly sought after. These waterfront sites offer excellent fishing opportunities and the chance to spot wildlife like mullet, snook, and even alligators directly behind your tent, adding an exciting dimension to the stay.
- Proximity to Oscar Scherer State Park Amenities: Guests have direct access to all the wonders of Oscar Scherer State Park, an "unexpected oasis" known for preserving the Florida scrub-jay habitat. The park offers over 15 miles of trails for hiking and biking (connecting to the Legacy Trail), opportunities for fishing and swimming in Lake Osprey, and paddling on South Creek. This vast natural playground is right outside your tent flap.
- Focus on Family and Relaxation: Reviewers consistently mention the positive experiences for families, highlighting the real beds, AC, and the array of outdoor games that keep kids entertained. It's a place designed for "making special memories with family and friends" and truly unwinding.
- "Camping Without the Work": The essence of glamping is doing away with the arduous setup. Guests arrive to a fully prepared site, allowing immediate relaxation and enjoyment of the surroundings, which is a huge benefit for those new to camping or who prefer convenience.
- Peaceful and Quiet Setting: Despite being located within a state park, the glamping sites offer a generally "quiet and clean" environment, allowing for a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle.

Timberline Glamping Sarasota Reviews
My two young children and I stayed at site 20 and had a really nice time. This was my first experience camping in any capacity so having real beds and some ac was greatly appreciated. I was a little worried about how the ac would work out given a June trip but honestly it was better than I expected. It was a little warm during the day and at night it seemed just a tiny bit warmer than we keep it at home but totally doable. The beds were all great and I really appreciated all of the pillows and blankets as we didn't need any of our own (although maybe in the winter bringing some extra blankets would be nice). I really appreciated there were string lights outside and a mini fridge.I will say when booking I paid extra for the tent around the picnic table and the tent that was used was not of the same quality as pictured online so with the summer rains our picnic table was often wet. I did notice another glamping site had the tent shown online so I wonder if they only have one/fewer than there are sites. The table also had tons of ants so in the future I'd bring a table cloth or something.I did have some issues with the bunk beds but that may be more specific to my children. The top bunks have nice railing although my children being younger didn't want to be up that high. The bottom bunks have no railing and my kids fell out of bed multiple times. I ended up sticking some pool noodles under the fitted sheet which helped. I wonder if in the future there could be an add on option for removable bed rails.Overall, we had a great experience and hope to go back again soon.
Jun 23, 2025 · Ashley HWe recently stayed at Timberline Glamping in Sarasota and had a great time overall. Despite the heat, having AC in the tent at night made a big difference. It did get pretty warm during the day, but there were plenty of ways to enjoy ourselves—bikes, outdoor games, and the peaceful setting. We specifically stayed at site 19, which is one of the only two waterfront sites (19 and 20). If you're into fishing, I highly recommend it. We had a lot of success catching Mexican Mayan Mahara and saw plenty of mullet and snook swimming by. The waterway was very active—and we even spotted an alligator right behind our site, which added to the excitement. Our friends were in site 20, which is noticeably larger than the others and offers the most outdoor space—definitely the prime spot if you can book it. All of the tents were clean, well-equipped, and comfortable inside. We’d absolutely go again—just in a cooler month next time!
Jun 03, 2025 · Shawn LWe had a great time staying here for our labor day weekend. Camping in Florida in August is typically out of the question but this was a perfect solution. The 2 sets of bunk beds were perfect for our 4 kids. All beds were very comfortable. The ac worked way better than expected. It would get a little warmer during the day but was cold at night. It was great to have the ability to shower up and then go back to the cold, clean tent. We enjoyed the lake and the nearby beach. Will definitely be trying some of Timberlines other locations.
Sep 03, 2024 · LyonsDen6Incredible overall! Easy to book and great communication. The entire campsite was perfect, the pretty lanterns outside, personalized welcome sign inside, stocked coffee maker and the AC was incredible. Every little detail was thought of, decorating and bedding was beautiful, indoor and outdoor lights easy to navigate. Perfect amount of space for our family of 4 inside and outside the tent. A+ experience!!
Jul 12, 2024 · Erin VincentA wonderful experience!!!! My family and I had a very fun time between nature and the super comforts that Timberline Glamming provided us. We receive the instructions by text and they are very simple and clear The Oscar scherer #20 tent is fabulous, it is very comfortable and beautiful. When we arrived we were very happy to see how clean and nice it was decorated inside and that they left us a personalized sign. It was my little twins' birthday and that made them feel very special. The tent has perfect games to share with the family and outside it has a comfortable hammock. We also really liked how they left us firewood ready for our campfire and a barbecue also an insect protection tent in the dining room .you have the option of adding bicycles to ride through the park. The tent is very comfortable since it has air conditioning and fans, it is also very safe the night we spent it rained and there was a bit of a storm, however I slept like a baby and felt very safe. My daughters loved the experience and I am sure we will return very soon. Thank you timberline glamming Sarasota for such a good experience.
