The location of this place is the only reason I'd consider revisiting Snowflower. We stayed in a cabin which had great views. I'm leaving 3 stars because the condition of our cabin was less than desirable. Immediately heard and saw several mice which is understandable but there were mice droppings everywhere even on the couch like the cabin hadn't been properly cleaned. Called to inform the front desk, received no call back. Also the blinds on several windows were completely broken and looked horrible, chunks of blinds missing, like just take them down if you don't want to replace them. Some of the windows were seized up and wouldn't open, no AC in the cabin so it was hot and stuffy, cobwebs everywhere. Lastly, I booked a no-pet cabin but there was animal hair everywhere on the sheets, the floor, and the towels. The cabin could be really nice but it just seems like it was boarded up for winter and not cleaned or maintained properly upon opening for the summer season. Hopefully they will consider better maintenance for a better experience, it wouldn't take much. Not sure if I'll return but the area was very beautiful.

Overall, the campground is really nice. Beautiful location with a nice small lake to enjoy. The downside is the assigned sites at check-in. Our assigned site was too small for our rig. After waiting for about one hour to have our site re-assigned due to four or five other families needing site re-assignments for the same issue we had, Collette assigned us to The Cliffs. This section turned out to be perfect for our friends and us. We were able to stay together where we were not able to stay together in our original assigned sites.Collette did her best with what she was given to help the families who were displaced due to the new TT assigned site system. She went above and beyond staying overtime to help the long line of folks needing help. This cannot be easy for her.We did enjoy our stay and will be back but I am not sure this new assigned system is working well.One complaint: I attempted to contact the office several times for weeks prior to our arrival. The voicemail is chronically full and no one answers the phone when calling directly to the office.

Stayed in a trailer spot #60. Nice area. The campground is spread out so it doesn't feel crowded. Nice lake on the ground. Dogs enjoyed that the best. Lodge with a pool table,foosball andplenty of games. Bring lots of bug spray tons of mosquitoes. No luck with the fishing.

I would say that your experience depends very much on where you're staying. I understand that members cannot choose the area, please correct me if I'm wrong.The lower loops close to the lake seem much better. We were assigned a spot up there, and from the entrance to there is like a 15-20 minute drive on terrible roads, holes, bumps and all (including the longer road that is supposed to be better).After settling down we wanted to walk to the lake and the clubhouse, and gave it a try - you can't cut across the forest and would have to hike for a very long time to get there. Lots of bugs, too - never been to a place with so many.Overall lovely nature, good lower loop sites, but terrible roads - I hope they can do something about that.

We stopped by this campground twice to see if we wanted to become members of Thousand Trails RV Parks.We have a large rig and some areas in the mountains are too tight to fit in. Our first visit to Snowflower was on a Memorial Weekend. The website for this campground said it was "open". We drove an hour up Hwy 80 to get there and found it was closed and they wouldn't allow us to tour the area. We met a really lovely woman who I think was running the facility, she apologized for the oversight and invited us to come back up for a tour in a couple of weeks. She was extremely inviting, and we left the entrance of the campground feeling warm and fuzzy because the employee was so welcoming.We decided to take another drive on Saturday, Father's Day weekend to check out the park again. We pulled in and the parking lot was empty and dead. I went into the registration office and it was empty and very dated on the inside. No t-shirts, drinks, souvenirs, or anything was for sale that people normally purchase as a remembrance of their vacation. No one was at the counter to greet the customers, but there was a bell on the empty countertop. When I rang the bell, a woman who was the assistant manager of registration I think, Collette, promptly said she'd be right there. I told her we'd like to tour the park and see if this was somewhere we'd like to stay, and that we tried to tour the park once before on Memorial weekend, but the park was closed. She told me this was a "Private Park and it was Members Only". I told her, "I knew this," and again repeated, "We tried to tour the park on Memorial weekend and it was closed". She became very triggered and defensive and told me "She had water damage from the winter and she had to stay closed because it wasn't safe for the public!" My reply was, "How is someone to know if you want to become a "Member" if you can't tour the park?" She started to walk away as if we weren't worthy of being members... I thought, WOW, we just wasted our time and gasoline, now twice to tour this campground. I was getting a little upset with her attitude. I think she realized she was a bit out of line, then decided to give me the pass and said to me, "So you have a map if you've been here been here before and told me she needed my Driver's license. No, I didn't have a map and eventually, we did get the pass and code to drive through the campground.As we drove through the campground, we found the "Cliffs" was like an asphalted parking, behind the Bluffs. This particular area reminded us of an old PG&E staging area.The pool wasn't far away from the Cliffs. No one was swimming or laying out by the pool on this day. All the chairs and lounge chairs were stacked up like they were ready to be stored away for the season or never unpacked. We then found our way to the large pond/lake it was clean. The Lodge was extremely dated, the other areas of the campsites were tight, and the cabins we drove by looked clean. The structures are dated and in need of updating. We live in the mountains and know what the weather will do to structures.This place needs some personality & updating. It sucks to have your first meet-and-greet or face of an organization that has no customer service skills. I know this because I was a career business owner, your people will make you or break you. Hire wisely.
