Thousand Trails Pio Pico Reviews
This park definitely has some issues, and there is room for improvement. We had one staff member that wasn’t very pleasant (she was at the store) but the rest of the staff and especially the maintenance team were great !! We had a water leak as we were setting up and it was fixed within an hour !!!! Every team member was pleasant and happy to help !!! We will return, the mountains are nice and the park is quiet.
Mar 26, 2025 · Jen YoungWe love Pio Pico! We are members of Thousand Trails so we stayed for 21 days. The day before our scheduled departure the wildfire near our next reservation became worrisome along with very high winds and gusts over 80 mph. I went to the office and spoke with Lisa we were able to extend a week for $29. We had never used this benefit in 4 years of travel but I was so thankful we could stay.Pio Pico is quiet and while you have to drive about 10 miles to grocery shopping and multitudes of restaurants it is wonderful to be away from traffic and highway noise. The laundry has updated machines and they work well, you can either buy a card or use the Wash app. The bathrooms are kept clean but some campers just are inconsiderate and make horrible messes. I feel for the staff as they get blamed but the work their butts off to keep everything clean. We don’t use pools or hot tub and we have Starlink so I have no idea if the paid wifi works.Nature is abundant here, lots of birds, ground squirrels, bunnies and sometimes at night or even dusk you can hear the coyotes yipping.Pio Pico may not be for everyone but honestly I could live there and be quite happy.
Jan 15, 2025 · Lil ClarkAbsolutely Outdoor perfect! The only downfall is the Cell service, and Wifi in the Park is terrible. Everything else is very Peaceful. The Cabins felt like home away from home. The city of Chula Vista is about 12 minutes away. Walmart, Movie Theaters, and lots of shops to easily get to! Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏
Feb 03, 2025 · Brad GoodmanThis place is just amazing! Location, views, amenities, I love it all!Don’t expect a fancy setup! It is charming, cozy, awesome camping experience!People who work here do for love and that makes the difference!Thank you to each one of you guys!
Feb 23, 2025 · Rodolfo AntunesWe arrived at 11am unknowing of the $30 charge for showing up before 12 that the staff would not waive. We paid and continued to look for a spot, it was very full. There are no standards for trash, debris, people having items and hoarding everywhere at their sites.. never have we experienced such an unmaintained site with thousand trails and we have been full timers for a bit now.Our spot had debris and old sewage gloves and dirty napkins surrounding our hookup that had not been cleaned up for a while. After finding a spot the staff drove by a couple of hours later. She was extremely rude and sarcastic with my husband about taking so long to find a spot. She was the same staff at check in that was very unfriendly and not welcoming at all.We came for the location near San Diego and will not be returning to this spot again. If I could rate a 0 I would.
