Thousand Trails Lynchburg Reviews
Just coming to address some information from other reviews! We stayed here for the weekend as our daughter was graduating from Liberty! Is the campground a lil outdated, yes! Was it clean, yes! Looks like they have put down new gravel to level out the ruts others have reviewed about! We were told the old management of 25 years really let the place go down hill and it had unsavory guest, but in the last year have gotten new management ( Cody?) I will say hearing what had happened… it didn’t get that way over night and will it be completely fixed overnight! We felt safe as they are pretty attentive about the gate and who is there! But I do think they are headed in the right direction! As far as the seasonal campers… if your kind I find that most others are kind back! They were all very welcoming to us even though we were weekenders! The great thing about camping is you get to meet to many different people and hear their stories! Maybe learn a thing or two! They also had “a food truck” in the activity center for breakfast Saturday, but as they were running almost 2 hours behind we did not partake in that. But nice they do try and schedule things for the campers. Hope this helps you in making a choice in booking this location!
May 12, 2025 · Jennie PfefferThere are many campsites to choose from however the amenities need to be confirmed by the staff. This is another beautiful setting tucked in the woods with many hiking path. The man-made pond is a nice added touch. The staff is phenomenal. We were told that a new manager is making a lot of changes and is very enthusiastic in regards to bringing the place back. Like many of Thousand Trails campgrounds the property is in need of many updates. Including the pool, bathrooms, activity building, and public venue area. This campground has a lot of potential. If you like being off the grid and away from noice, and chaos, you can get that here.
Oct 21, 2024 · Kelly FitzpatrickThe worst campground we have ever had the misfortune of visiting. We travel across the US twice this year. Thousand trails Lynchburg set an all time low. Facilities were in terrible condition and dirty. Staff were non existent, no one answered the phone, no one in the office, no one at the gate. When you called on the radio left at the gate another camper came. The campsites looked like homeless village complete with yelling and screaming all night, drunks on golf carts, fighting, and drug sales. We found one staff member in 3 days, who we chased down, as he drove through the ground at 20 mph. When I asked about who to call at night he responded "no one works at night and we don't care"Congratulations folks, you have cured us of ever visiting another Thousand Trails facility. It was so bad we left 2 days early.
Nov 03, 2024 · Lee ScriptureBeautiful camping area, big sites most with electric water and sewer. Lodge/ clubhouse and pool are a bit rustic but awesome place to spend a few days or the summer. Nice hiking trail around the lake. The staff is helpful and friendly! Thank you for another great trip!
Oct 19, 2024 · angeline DohertyIt’s a nice Campground it’s basic with other stuff. The employees honestly make the place. The seasonal campers how ever make you feel very odd and unfriendly. Sites are decent some more legal than others. The pool was open and there was a band and food trucks sat. We did enjoy our time there. It was our first thousand trail campground. The employee’s make it amazingCodey I believe is his name and the lady with a pony tail glasses and the bangs was amazing. Kites of sites did have bags on them. If you can get past the seasonal campers …they have many activities pool shuffle board lake fishing etc golf carts are allowed if you are a member .
