Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA Holiday Reviews
We stayed overnight twice during a two week trip coming from Indiana and going to Maine, September 2024. We were greeted with a very friendly staff , cookies for us and our dogs, a plastic duck, and escorted to our site . They have nice big pull through shades sites with full hookups. Their store is well stocked from food to snacks and apparel. There is a pool and pond and lots of other things to keep kids busy if you have them . We enjoyed have the nice big well kept dog run . Their bathhouse has individual doors and is well kept. We saved this on our Google maps for return visits .Although we were puzzled on our return trip home we didn’t get a duck, cookies, or biscuits .Thank you for your hospitality and well kept campground
May 10, 2025 · Kelly FrankIm not much on writing reviews, but I must. I had a wonderful experience while spending 3 weeks at KOA THOMPSON, OHIO. From the first phone call to book the site till the day I left, I was treated very well. I felt Chris the manager genuinely cared that I would enjoy my stay and I did. I noticed him always working hard around the grounds, making sure it was kept up. He answered all my questions with honesty. I am very satisfied with my stay and will return next year.Keep up the great work, Chris.See you again.
Apr 07, 2025 · John ValenteWe got here the middle of April and had intentions on leaving after 2 weeks but once we got looking around and talking to the owners and staff we got comfortable and enjoyed every minute we were here it was wonderful also my kids made some new friends who are just so much fun and great. Also the staff comes and picks up your trash and fills your propane for you how awesome is that and Chris and Roxanne are the best host you could ever ask for they absolutely treated my kids wonderfully and jake and Charlie were kind and helpful whenever we needed something as well. Oh and as far as activity goes Roxanne does a great job planning out everything the whole staff is amazing and we liked it here so much we're staying another month. 11 out of 10 would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a place to camp here in northeast Ohio
May 04, 2025 · Lee AndersonVery beautiful and very well well organized KOA.Friendly and professional staff, clean and well maintained facilities. The camping is 45 minutes from Cleveland, close to the lakefront and surrounded by great wineries where to eat and sip excellent wines.
May 31, 2025 · Luca MargaritaWhat a disappointing turn this campground has made!! I’ve camped at this location with friends for several years, from before KOA bought it until this past summer. We weren’t thrilled when we found out KOA took over, unsure of what changes would be made. The first year was ok but when the management changed every year it got progressively worse and worse. 2024 camping was by the absolute worst due to the current management! So may trees were cut down, I don’t know about other people but I go camping to be in nature, not what essentially feels like a gravel parking lot with only some trees on the site. The bathrooms smelled of mildew and there was always hair and soap scum in the showers, which had not been the case previously, certainly not to this degree. There is hardly enough furniture at the pool although plenty of more space for some, the chlorine is so strong it burns your eyes and nostrils. Worst of all the staff is super rude and unfriendly. No smiles, no waves but will absolutely barrel through the campground to chase people down to yell at them if they feel they are driving too fast, even though they themselves drive fast on their gold carts. What a terrible experience.
