Thirteenmile Campground

Republic, WA 99166, USA

5.0
A perfectly placed, much-needed campground! We had just crossed on the ferry and were knackered - we were really needing a place to stop. It never says its a campground at the site, but there are, indeed, four campsites, each with a fire ring and a picnic table. The road is right there next to it, but once the ferry stops running, it's silent at night. Beautiful scenery, a bear-safe trashcan, gorgeous view of the night sky, and best of all, a clean, well-kept vault toilet! - Jayne Cravens

Location and Accessibility

Thirteenmile Campground is conveniently located on Highway 21, approximately 13 miles south of Republic, Washington, right at the boundary of the Colville Indian Reservation. Its address is Republic, WA 99166, USA. This position makes it easily accessible for travelers coming from Republic or exploring the wider Ferry County area.

The campground’s proximity to the main road ensures straightforward access, even for vehicles with trailers. While the road is close, visitors consistently report that noise diminishes significantly at night, allowing for peaceful rest under the stars. It serves as a prime access point to the Thirteenmile Trail #23, which is part of the extensive Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail, offering miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding opportunities through varied terrain including rock cliffs, open woodlands, and stunning vistas.

Services Offered

  • Rustic Campsites: Thirteenmile Campground offers a selection of rustic campsites, perfect for tents and smaller RVs. While it might not always explicitly be signed as a campground at the site itself, there are typically four designated campsites available.
  • Picnic Tables: Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, providing a convenient space for meals, games, or simply relaxing outdoors.
  • Fire Rings: Every campsite includes a fire ring, allowing campers to enjoy crackling campfires under the open sky (subject to any fire restrictions in place due to dry conditions).
  • Vault Toilets: The campground features a clean and well-kept vault toilet, a highly appreciated amenity by past visitors.
  • Bear-Safe Trashcans: For responsible waste disposal and wildlife safety, bear-safe trashcans are provided. However, some sources suggest a "pack it out" policy for garbage, so it's always best to be prepared to take out what you bring in.

  • No Hookups: This is a primitive campground, meaning no electrical, water, or sewer hookups are available at the campsites.
  • First-Come, First-Served: Many of the campsites at primitive campgrounds like Thirteenmile operate on a first-come, first-served basis, especially outside of peak seasons. Always check for current regulations.
