★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Very cool place to bring your kids they have camping options where you stay in the house a little wagon or tent sites RV sites they have fishing swimming putt, putt, golf, different kinds of games and what I love. The most was every couple hours every day they have this event where they do with kids like slime or painting or whatever some of it cost a dollar or two, but that’s still not bad. My kids enjoyed the day there my only negative review would be the pool is extremely hot. It felt like sitting in a hot tub other than that this place is perfect for family getaway and not very expensive at all either.
July 13 · Danielle CooglerWe recently stayed at The Retreat in Huffman with a group of three families. There were some fun activities planned for the kids like ceramic painting, hay rides, and pool games, which we appreciated. However, our experience overall was disappointing. We stayed in a 6-person cabin and were only given two towels. Despite multiple requests, no additional towels were ever brought to us. When we first arrived, it was raining and the key we were given didn’t work. We were given multiple codes before finally being able to get in, which was frustrating after a long trip.We also ran out of basic essentials like toilet paper and trash bags, and there wasn’t a clear way to request more. The cafe inside the clubhouse seemed convenient, but you’re not allowed inside in wet clothes, and the outdoor food window by the pool was closed—making it almost impossible to get anything while swimming. We paid $4 for a single scoop of ice cream that was surprisingly tiny.Unfortunately, between the lack of responsiveness, poor service, and limited amenities, we probably won’t be coming back.
July 05 · Jessica AckermanBest staff ever! The retreat staff really stepped up and made a great situation out of a bad one. I had a birthday party for nine 12 year old girls and I had booked at the wrong location and Jessica went above and beyond to accommodate me even when they were fully booked. The staff helped us out and we came up with a very enjoyable accommodation that made the party memorable. Thank you for making my baby girls birthday a blast.
May 18 · Elizabeth Alvarez [WHE]I highly recommend this place for a day of fun and activities, camping for a weekend, and I've even been considering looking into becoming a permanent resident because they offer rv lots that you can rent month to month for really reasonable prices, and with all of the amenities they provide for you it makes it far more worth renting an apartment. Myron showed me around the park and the site is so clean and well maintained. He as well as everyone else I talked to were very friendly and accommodating and I felt very welcome and felt like I was on a vacation, not like I was 5 minutes from home. Usually I go out to the beach when I want to do outdoorsy things for a getaway and it's so awesome that this place is so close to home so it's much more convenient! They provide you golf carts, have an awesome pool and have food and drinks you can buy or you can bring your own stuff! They have a bunch of cool activities for kids (or adults who want to feel like a kid again and do arts and crafts!😉), and the list goes on and on. Myron was so informative and kind and answered any questions I had about how things work there. I also saw him entertaining the kids and they seemed to be having such a great time. I will be returning here on a regular basis. This is my new getaway spot, for sure!!
May 20 · KT RobbinsThis trip/stay was a PLEASANT SURPRISE!!!I’m a city girl, so I wasn’t expecting this. This place was chosen as the site for family reunion. The cabins were AMAZING: clean, well stocked with every kitchen utensil that you can imagine, spacious living quarters, propane bbq pit, picnic table, high powered ac units… a miniature home-away-from home. This resort had activities planned for guests from 9:30 am until 8ish pm. Golf carts were available to be rented by the day. Swimming pool with spacious poolside cabanas. A lake for fishing, etc. A snack-bar to buy refreshments. It was GREAT!!! Can’t wait to go back. Please 👍 if you find this review to be accurate &/or helpful. Thanks.
