The Oasis RV Campground Introduce
The Oasis RV Campground, located in Perry, Florida, presents itself as a small, secluded, and private getaway perfect for those who prioritize peace, quiet, and direct access to the outdoor activities that define Florida’s Nature Coast. Situated close to the Gulf of Mexico, this location is marketed as a prime spot for local enthusiasts of hunting and fishing, offering a tranquil retreat away from the noise and crowds of larger resort towns.
The campground itself is a modest operation, featuring a limited number of sites (approximately three) nestled in a rural setting. It caters specifically to RV users who appreciate a rustic environment and the ability to enjoy the outdoors without excessive resort amenities. The sites themselves are laid out in a thoughtful manner, utilizing a black crushed asphalt surface. Guests who have enjoyed their stay often praise the secluded nature of the park, noting the beautiful sunsets and its proximity to two local beaches.
However, potential visitors, especially those planning extended stays, should be aware that the park is very much a functional, no-frills destination. Recent long-term customer feedback indicates that while the location has great potential, it may still be in the early stages of establishing consistent infrastructure and routine services. Concerns have been raised by previous guests regarding promised amenities, such as Wi-Fi, which was not yet available, and issues concerning basic services like trash removal and site maintenance (e.g., ant treatment). Transparency and responsiveness from the owner regarding service establishment and refund policies have also been noted as areas of significant disappointment for some campers who needed to leave early.
The Oasis RV Campground is ideally situated for the adventurous camper looking for a base near the Gulf’s natural resources, yet maintains a comfortable distance from the main tourist hubs.
- **Address:** 830 E Whitetail Dr, Perry, FL 32348, USA.
- **Proximity to Water:** A major draw is its excellent location, just approximately **two miles from the Keaton Beach boat ramp** and the Gulf of Mexico. This makes it an incredibly convenient spot for launching boats for fishing, scalloping, and other marine activities.
- **Seclusion:** Located in a rural, wooded area, the campground is known for its **private and secluded atmosphere**. This distance from populated areas is why guests report seeing the beautiful Milky Way at night.
- **Local Access:** Though private, the site is close enough for a short drive to two local beaches and a quick trip to nearby attractions like the BeachBums store and Walter B's tiki hut. However, the closest town for major grocery shopping and restaurants, Perry, is approximately 30 minutes away, requiring campers to plan for self-sufficiency.
- **Accessibility:** The campground does offer some consideration for accessibility, providing a **Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lot** on-site.
- **Parking:** **On-site Parking** is provided, with extra room for large vehicles, boats, and trailers—a crucial feature for guests engaged in hunting and fishing.
The core services at The Oasis RV Campground are focused on supporting a fully self-contained RV experience, providing the necessary utilities for comfort during an extended stay.
- **RV Hookups:** All sites are equipped with **Full RV Hookups**, including electrical hookup (with 30/50 amp service available), water hookup (potable water), and sewage hookup.
- **Parking and Space:** The sites are described as **oversized**, offering plenty of space for large RVs, with extra room specifically for parking boats or additional vehicles.
- **Site Surface:** The sites feature a **black crushed asphalt** surface.
- **Utilities Note:** Prospective long-term guests should note a consistent review mentioning the placement of electrical boxes is far behind the camper parking area, potentially requiring an **extra-long cord or extension**.
- **Pricing:** The park offers flexible rates, including nightly, weekly, and monthly options, with monthly rates often quoted around $600.
**Service Discrepancies:** Multiple reviews highlight a disconnect between advertised or promised services and what is currently available:
- **Internet/Wi-Fi:** Despite promises, **reliable Wi-Fi was not operational** at the time of several recent customer visits, with fiber not yet laid in the area. Campers should assume limited or no connectivity, which may affect remote work.
- **Refuse Removal:** The campground has experienced **inconsistent trash pick-up** following a business closure by a trash company, requiring long-term guests to assist with taking garbage to the dump.
The distinct selling points for The Oasis RV Campground are tied directly to its private setting and the specific recreational opportunities it facilitates for the outdoor enthusiast.
- **Excellent for Outdoor Sports:** It is specifically highlighted as a **good secluded location for hunting and fishing** enthusiasts, providing the space and proximity to the Gulf and surrounding natural areas required for these activities.
- **Privacy and Seclusion:** The small number of sites (only 3 were available for rent at one time) and the rural setting create a **very private and quiet atmosphere**, highly valued by guests seeking to escape city life.
- **Natural Views:** Campers can enjoy the area's natural beauty, including **great sunsets** and a clear night sky, where one can truly see the Milky Way.
- **Vehicle-Friendly:** The oversized spots and ample extra parking allow guests to easily bring and store vehicles like boats, trailers, and even **4-wheelers or side-by-sides** to explore the vast wooded area or take a sunset ride to the beach.
- **Communal Fire Pit:** The campground features a **huge fire pit** for relaxing evenings and socializing, fostering a friendly community environment.

**Choose The Oasis if you are:**
- A **serious angler or hunter** looking for a secure, full-hookup base camp with plenty of room for a boat and equipment, located only two miles from the Keaton Beach boat ramp.
- Someone who desires a **deeply secluded, very private camping experience** where quiet evenings and stargazing are the primary features.
- A traveler who is **comfortable with a “no-frills” environment** and can tolerate a lack of certain resort amenities, such as a consistent waste management service or reliable Wi-Fi/cell connectivity.
- Seeking **long-term stays** in a quiet rural setting, provided you have a clear, written agreement regarding all financial and amenity expectations.
It is crucial to balance the allure of the prime location and seclusion with the necessity of being prepared for the logistical challenges mentioned by prior guests. While the location itself is fantastic for accessing the best of the Nature Coast, potential campers should **do their homework** and confirm all service expectations, especially regarding internet and long-term refund policies, to ensure a smooth and professional camping experience. For those who value privacy and water access above all else, The Oasis offers a beautiful, unique camping spot in Taylor County.

February 08 · Maureen StillwellThis campground is a good secluded location for hunting and fishing. The campground its self is a black crushed asphalt, the electrical boxes are places far behind where the campers park, so you will need a extra long cord or an extension. The boxes are also in the middle of your area to sit or eat outside. Upon arrival we were told our specific electrical box needed to be checked due to potential hurricane damage, we consented, that never happened. The regular trash pick up company closed business about 2 weeks after we arrived, we agreed to assist with taking the garbage to the dump until the owner was able to get a new garbage company. A new company was never hired and we were the only ones taking the garbage to the dump, when I asked the owner about it, he just said he lost his pass to the dump. I asked several times about the ant hills to be treated, there was no solution. You are asked to pay for all of your stay once you arrive or to pay and keep a couple of months up front. Which was not a problem; however, we had to leave early because 2 of us were unable to work or have phone connection. We were told when we first arrived that we would have internet in approx 4 weeks; however, after further investigation, that was a lie, the fiber he spoke of hadn't even started being laid in the Keaton Beach area. I have reached out to the owner several times along with other campers about getting our money refunded, with absolutely no response from the owner. This area has great potential and there are many campgrounds in the area, do your homework and make sure you are working with someone who is honest and upfront, there were many things that we could have addressed ahead of time if the owner would have been honest. We went out of our way to try and help take care of the area cleaning up downed trees, pulling leaves, treating our areas and community areas for ants. We are very disappointed that the owner will not be professional and respond in regards to our refund, so, on to the next step of getting it back. The people in the area are kind and helpful, we just recommend staying at one of the other campgrounds in the area.
