The campsites are pretty close together and our site’s (#44) fire pit was awkwardly situated for a tent. The comfort station near the front of the campground is very well kept, the one in the middle, a little less so, but still decent. The campground seems smaller than it looks on the map. The park is pretty, most of the sites are shaded, and there’s an entrance toThe trails at the back of the campground. You can hear traffic all day. Still, We had a lovely time over Memorial Day.

Used to be great. Now gate doesn't always work. Bathrooms by playground are closed entirely, and the other isn't open till well after at 9am and who knows when they close it after.

This was a nice campground. We spent three nights total here in a popup camper, and we enjoyed every bit of it. If you are wanting super spacious camp sites, we'll it's not exceptionally so. Yes, you can see your neighbors, but that said you aren't crammed in like sardines (and yes I have actually been to "camprgrounds" that have you just that close together with your neighbors sewage right next to your picnic table so this is loads better). Each site is fairly roomy, most have gravel to flatten the spot, every site I saw was nice and shady, and there's at least a few feet between sites, some more than others. Honestly, the distance between sites is fairly standard for state parks, at least in GA.The campground itself has very friendly staff and campground hosts. We were treated great the whole time. All of the sites were very clean. I actually saw the campground host going by recently emptied sites to check them and clean up anything left behind.Located at the campground is an entrance to the Tallulah Gorge State Park trails, conveniently located to access the main trails. Within a short walking distance you can view the dam and just a little further the beach at the lake. Personally, we opted to drive to the Interprative Center to walk the trails of the actual gorge because we didn't want to be tired already before we even got to get to the bridge, let alone coming back. But you can get there from the campground trail access.My only real complaint was that the bathrooms were not great. The stalls, especially for the showers, are so small you can't really even wash yourself without bashing your head while trying to bend down. There was nowhere to put you clean clothes and towels in the outer stalls, so you just had to either place them on the floor 😬 or lay them over the outer stall door and hope everyone is as honest as you. Even the outer stalls are so small that getting dressed after your shower is a chore because you can't really bend down. This was true for the men's and women's bathrooms. The cleanliness could have been better too. My husband said there was one toilet stall that was unusable our whole stay because it was clogged and never cleaned up and they had another stall run out of toilet paper for a whole day. The women's restroom stalls weren't that bad, thankfully, but it did not appear as though anyone ever came and cleaned it, just replaced toilet paper and the trash.Overall, the site was lovely and well kept. It has easy access to both the state park and town with plenty to do nearby. The bathroom situation could use a little work, but otherwise I have no real complaints. I wouldn't be against staying here again as there is so much to do and see, even in three days we couldn't get it all done.
