Tailwater Campground Reviews
My best friend and I didn’t stay at the campground, but we spent time at the tailwater, which was absolutely amazing. The site is really cool to see, and it's very relaxing to listen to the rushing flow of the water. The park and restrooms are very clean, making it a nice place to visit.💙
Jun 21, 2025 · ChristinaA bit difficult to locate, but once we were there, it was good. There is more than one TailwaterRecreation Area Campgrounds so be sure you chose the right one before you drive all the way there... they are 90 minutes apart. The sitelooked a little aged, but, over-all it was good. Cell signal is not particularly strong
Jun 29, 2025 · Kerrie BarneyWARNING WARNING WARNINGThis is the WORST campground my husband and I have ever visited! There was NO water and NO electricity. The only restroom facility was the most vile port-a-potty I've ever experienced. No lock on the door! It had the most putrid smell, and I was gagging. This was supposed to be the ONLY way to use the restroom for about 70 campsites. I had to go miles to a convenience store or use that in the middle of the night. But EVERYTHING was locked. The showers were locked. The restrooms were locked. The grass was overgrown everywhere. It was absolutely subpar. Now we understand the reason there were only a handful of campers. The ones in tents were gone at dawn. It was because of those horrific outhouses. The company manager and his wife were very friendly but that's it.Shame on you Corps of Engineers!
Apr 20, 2025 · Bethany PiqueI absolutely love the tailwaters. Plenty of room to fish. Always catch fish here and generally have a game warden present most times when I have gone fishing....which I absolutely love! The game warden in the area is a really nice guy and is quite helpful. Keep up the good work, sir!
Feb 05, 2025 · Diane ReynoldsDue to tRamp budget cuts no electricity now. No water hydrant working, reserve based on previous facilities but not anymore.
