I love this campground. For me, it's convenient because it's not too far from my house, which is nice for quick, reset, get-away trips. It's across the highway from the beach, so at night, once the traffic has quieted, and the weather is right, you can hear the waves. There are restrooms with token showers which have been very clean the times I have used them. Some of the spaces are close to each other, but I feel like there's enough room for privacy. There is also day use parking, which is nice if you have someone visiting you while you camp or want to visit the beach park across the highway, Sycamore Cove. Overall, this is one of my favorite campgrounds to visit.

Site #19 is not big enough for 2 cars and 2 tents - it is very small and only big enough for car and one tent. It has the bathroom right there.Sites #20 & 21 were far better.Beach was beautiful... especially at sunset!However, we won't be staying at this location again.First, because its a canyon sound bounces around and makes it louder than other campgrounds we have stayed at. If there are a lot of kids running around its louder than you would expect.Second, there was a cluster of families with many children during our stay who partied past midnight and made so much noise that members in our group could not sleep. The cops had to come out multiple times to deal with them, but they were never forced to leave.Third, one time, when those noisy groups saw the cops coming, they silenced themselves real quick and waited until the cops left to party again... so in that moment, the cops approached members of our group who had not done anything wrong and warned them. That was scary to be wrongly accused.Overall, we found this to not be the best campground experience. The people who made all that noise and disobeyed the quiet hours should have been removed and banned from California State Park campgrounds, but I know full well they might wrongly ban our quiet group because the cops went to us in error that one night. This was not the peaceful beach campout we hoped for. I regret visiting here.

I love camping but this campground is not it. Campsites are VERY close together. The worst part is my neighbors were blasting music & talking loudly until past midnight, when quiet hours supposedly start at 10pm. For $45/night plus an $8 “convenience fee,” quiet hours should be enforced by the park staff. I’ve stayed in much more quiet and spacious campgrounds for much less.

A great place for camping. Clean territory. There is a campfire circle, a table with benches and a faucet with water in some areas. We had a rest here from June 30th to July 2nd, and it was very windy. If you are constantly freezing, you need to take warm jackets with you. It was +30⁰ in the San Fernando Valley, but here it was about +19⁰. I didn't get a connection at all places, but as soon as you leave the campsite, the connection appears. There is a mobile connection on the beach. Park staff constantly travel around the territory and keep order. We liked everything. A great experience😍🤩

This campground has it all—beautiful scenery, easy access to an awesome beach, and kind, professional park rangers. At night, you can enjoy stargazing accompanied by the soothing sound of crashing waves.One downside is that the shower at one site was broken, so we had to walk to a more distant one.
