Swallow Falls Campground

Oakland, MD 21550, USA

4.0
Beautiful, quiet campground. Lots of wildlife and tall trees. We stayed here to visit the Deep Creek Lake area and WV. We found it convenient to both. It's great to stay somewhere so close to the Swallow Falls Trail. It was so pretty that I did the hike twice. The sites are not super spacious, but plenty big enough for a tent. The rangers and staff at the camp store were friendly. I'd camp here again! - Kristin

As a state park campground managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Swallow Falls Campground does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense. However, it provides inherent value and structured pricing that can be considered advantageous for Maryland residents. The primary "offer" is access to a pristine natural environment at affordable rates. For instance, day-use admission fees are generally lower for Maryland residents ($3 per person on weekends/holidays, $3 per vehicle on weekdays during peak season; $3 per vehicle during off-peak) compared to out-of-state visitors. Camping fees also vary by site type, with standard campsites, sites with electric and water, and sites with full hookups having different rates, allowing visitors to choose based on their budget and needs. Camper cabins also have their own pricing. Reservations for campsites and cabins are strongly recommended, especially from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and can be made up to 365 days in advance through parkreservations.maryland.gov. While specific discounts like "early bird" or "stay-longer" are not listed, the consistent, transparent pricing model of Maryland State Parks, combined with the unparalleled natural beauty and access to activities, offers excellent value for a memorable outdoor experience. Any specific seasonal programs or events would be advertised directly by the park or the Maryland DNR. It's always best to check the official Maryland DNR website for the most up-to-date information on fees and any available programs.
