Sundance Camp Introduce
Sundance Camp is a vast and versatile camping destination located on the beautiful shores of Lake Texoma in Pottsboro, Texas. Spanning 80 acres on the Preston Peninsula, this private, gated property offers a unique blend of primitive camping, RV sites, and charming cabins, making it a fitting choice for a wide range of visitors. It stands out from typical public campgrounds by providing a more exclusive and secluded environment, perfect for Texans who want to escape the crowds and find a peaceful retreat. Sundance Camp also doubles as an event venue, adding to its flexibility and appeal as a location for family reunions, group gatherings, and special occasions.
The essence of Sundance Camp is its commitment to providing a tranquil and intimate experience. Despite its size, the low number of camping sites and cabins ensures that guests feel a sense of privacy and seclusion. The property is designed to allow guests to truly disconnect and enjoy the natural surroundings. One of its most significant assets is its extensive shoreline, featuring a long stretch of sandy beach area with clear, quiet water that is ideal for swimming and fishing. This private beach access is a huge advantage and a key reason why many campers return. While the property has its quirks, such as issues with the well water's metallic smell and a need for better public area maintenance according to some guests, its beautiful setting, unique lodging options, and overall peacefulness make it a highly recommendable choice for those seeking a quiet getaway.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We stayed the weekend prior to spring break. The cabins were spotless and having the entire campsite to ourselves was an added bonus! Weather was perfect and the grounds were amazing. Highly recommend and will be back again!
March 18 · Shannon OchsWe took our kids to Sundance Camp for July 4th holidays. We spent 4 days 3 nights there. Here are my experiences;Love:1. Cabin. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We love the treehouse cabin Ponderosa, it’s cute and equipped.2. Beach ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The beach there is nice, sandy beach, clear water and quiet, perfect for fishing! We got 3 catfish and 1 drum. (Almost got a big bass too!)3. Privacy and quietness. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dislike:1.Water system. ⭐️They use well water and it smells rusty. After shower our body smell like metal so we have to wash ourselves with distilled water which we got from grocery store.2. The bathroom. ⭐️They could have done better. We’ve been to their sister Glamping site, this is Paradise, we love their bathroom and water over there more than Sundance.3. The cleanliness of the public area. ⭐️It was dirty with lots of spider webs. The grass by the cabin is long.Overall: Sundance camp is good for someone who is looking for quietness and good fishing spot. They could do better on keeping the area nice and clean.Chances of our return is highly unlikely but would consider it at a different time of the year, not so sure for a summer return.
July 05 · Kongthong VinaithongWe had such a great time at Sundance Camp. Friendly people and comfortable cabins. The private beach was great.
August 22 · Christene GaitskillMy son and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sundance Camp. From the moment we arrived, the camp hosts made sure we had everything we needed. Their kindness, helpfulness, and wealth of information truly enhanced our experience. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Grounds were kept up and area was nice a quiet.
May 28 · Mark VargasWe had a last minute 3 night stay over Memorial weekend with our family and grand babies , our last 2 camping trips have been rained out so we were so excited to finally get away!!! We had watched the weather all week for chances of bad weather and all looked good , so we headed out, only to get to camp site in the midst of a monsoon , darn Mother Nature !!!we had to try to set up camp in the rain and MUD !!! It was a hot mess , first we got our truck stuck, which the amazing camp host John helped push us out of , then we got our camper stuck , again, John to the rescue !!! He was so amazing and kind !!We ended up having a “few” issues on our trip this time and John and Elizabeth the camp host were our hero’s , we can’t say enough great stuff about them !!This is our second time to stay at Sundance , it’s a nice secluded, quiet spot, NOT exactly what you see on the website or Facebook pages as it is a lil run down , swing set was broke , we never saw the sand volleyball court, And there was no sandy beaches but that was due to all the rain , it’s amazing the change from last year , overall it was a fun stay and I’m sure we will be back, if they will let us , we were a lot !!!!🙄😩🙄😩
