When I booked online, I was told that my reservation is not guaranteed. On arrival I understand why. When I arrived it was around 5-6pm, there was nobody at the kiosk (there's been nobody at the kiosk the whole stay), the entry gate is left wide open leaving anyone the ability to enter the property. This seems like a bit of a safety risk.There was a number to call for assistance but nobody answered, which is pretty pointless. They called me back 12 hours later after I had already been situated.There were no directories indicating where to go for my campsite so unfortunately I had to just kind of settle at a random location, this must be why they don't guarantee sites.Upon picking a site I noticed the place was pretty empty for prime season, which had me skeptical.Despite having nobody to help me find my site or any customer service, conveniently there was always someone to tell me I was doing something wrong or "oh no you can't do that it's not allowed".I tried to hang a line from one tree to another, to tether my dog for safety reasons as to not tangle my 6 year old in her 25 ft runner line, and to double as a drying line for clothes. The line was above head and safey located so that nobody could walk/run into it. Despite doing this at multiple other campgrounds without issue, and was told I can't put anything on the trees. (OK whatever, rules are rules.)I also was told my dog was not allowed to hang with me in the bounce area, which is full of grass, even on a leash, while my daughter bounced her heart out. I understand no free roam, but I can't even walk her in the grass area with a leash or tie her to the fence? Come on, now.They stated there's a dog park up front, which is smaller than my back yard and allows barely any room for the dog to run or play catch. I didn't bother checking the other dog park.I tried to purchase wood from the store which was already closed at 6pm, leaving me to scour the terrain for any wood I could manage to gather for a fire. (I honestly found this rather pleasant and very soothing, appropriate for the situation.) Although if you're not resourceful or don't like to get your hands dirty, you might want to plan firewood ahead of time.The tent sites are rather small and kind of pushed close together, had someone been camping in the spot next to my own, I feel as if it would be a bit of a crowded feeling.All in all the trip wasn't the worst but I think some of the unnecessary rules have got to go. Such as not being able to hang a line between trees for a tether or even to hang dry your clothes. I mean, isn't that what camping is all about, taking advantage of the resources you have while you're out in nature?It wasn't the worst experience but I definitely have to say there are other places that come to mind when I think of a first choice for my camping trips. I am unfortunately packing up tonight and headed out, cutting the stay a little short as a result of the experience.

Nothing like what they advertise. Adults pool was the only pool open so kids were allowed in. Arcade was closed, food place closed, they closed the pool in the middle of the day cause of some rain that stopped after a couple hours. All the recent bad reviews are accurate. This places sucks

Besides the location which is sorta nice because it’s near Foxwoods and other popular places, this place SUCKS!! I went here for vacation with family and everything sucks about it. Food sucks, workers are miserable, and there were so many problems with the site I was staying at. No water for example, table was broken, and no campfire. I never write reviews on places I go. However this was so bad I went out of my way to make sure this place gets what it deserves. I would have to write an essay to explain all the things that went wrong with my time here, but it would take too long. Even the washing room was dirty, bathrooms near the pool were out of order. Arcade was out of order. Limited food places in the whole park. Cracks in the basketball court. AND OVERPRICED RENTAL Golfcarts. The golf carts are so overpriced and are not even good. So do not go here if you want to have a good time.

If I could give them negative Stars I would. Their policies have become completely out of hand. We basically couldn't leave our campsite without being harassed or bullied by staff for violations that we were making. My children couldn't ride bikes I couldn't drive my golf cart we couldn't listen to music not to mention the visitors parking isn't even within the park. We went for Memorial Day weekend I wish I spent my money elsewhere.

I have been camping at Strawberry Park for many years. This year they said the site that I have been renting for the past couple years is no longer pet friendly. They now only have 5 dog friendly rentals. It’s camping… people like to bring their dogs. I understand they did some upgrades but that’s like saying no kids allowed. Kids can make just as much of a mess than a dog. There may be some people who do not train their dog or clean up after them but that shouldn’t negatively affect everyone. If a dog ruins something than the owner should be responsible to pay for the damage. Sun Fox campground says all sites are pet friendly but some are discouraged but still welcomed at owners expense. Also, they no longer have curtains. They have covered the windows with some film instead. So, all the outside lights gets into the cabin. The people across from us left their outside light on all night and it was shining into the camper. Also, from outside, you can see people’s shadows inside the campers if their light is on. Not very private.There are a lot of good things about the camp ground; friendly staff, fun activities, many nice pools, nice basketball and pickle ball courts, clean campground and quiet nights. It seems like they are short on staff. The pool no longer has an attendant. Kids were doing flips into the pool…very dangerous. There is no longer a concession stand. They have food trucks instead. The campground had people on the roof cleaning it with me inside and they didn’t even let me know ahead of time. It was so loud and scary. The guys didn’t even knock on the door to let me know they were going up there. Otherwise, it was a great experience. May try a different camp ground due to not many pet friendly rentals available.
