Stateline Cove Campground Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Stateline Cove Campground offers a unique and highly sought-after camping experience on the shores of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. This isn't a traditional, manicured campground with paved sites and perfectly lined-up picnic tables. Instead, it offers a more rustic, open-air style of camping, often described as dispersed beach camping. The area is a large, open space where campers can find their own spot, giving a true sense of freedom and space. Its prime location on the Utah-Wyoming border, as its name suggests, places it right on the water's edge, making it an ideal destination for anyone who loves the combination of camping and water sports.
The atmosphere at Stateline Cove is quiet and peaceful, especially during the off-season, offering a perfect retreat for those looking to get away from the crowds. It's a place where you can pull your RV or set up your tent with ample room to spare. The surrounding landscape is high desert, with few trees, which means the views of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains are expansive and uninterrupted. It is a first-come, first-served campground, which can make securing a spot in peak season a bit of a challenge, but the reward is a beautiful and serene environment that feels both wild and accessible. It's a favorite among locals for its laid-back vibe and proximity to the water.
Location and Accessibility
Stateline Cove Campground is located in Manila, UT 84046, USA, situated within the vast Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. The campground is easily accessible by car, located about 6 miles east of Manila on the Utah/Wyoming border. You will turn off a main highway onto an access road that leads to the campground entrance. This straightforward access makes it a convenient option for all types of vehicles, including large RVs, as noted by a camper who had no problem pulling a 37-foot fifth wheel into the area.
On-site parking is available throughout the large, open camping area. Visitors can park their vehicles right next to their camping spot, providing a great deal of convenience for setting up camp and accessing gear. While the water level of the reservoir can fluctuate, camping is typically available just a short distance from the water's edge, with one review noting that the closest spots were about 250 yards from the water. Despite its remote feel, the campground is not far from local conveniences. There is a small store near the marina just a few minutes away, which is helpful for picking up supplies like ice. This combination of a secluded atmosphere with nearby amenities makes it a practical and appealing choice for campers.
Services Offered
Public Restrooms: The campground provides access to public restrooms, specifically vault toilets. It's important to note that these are not flushing toilets and may not have running water, but a nearby campground offers more developed facilities for those who need them. One camper mentioned that they were able to use the bathrooms with running water and flushing toilets at a nearby campground, which is a useful local tip.
Running Water: While the campground itself may not have a reliable or potable source of running water, there are other campgrounds nearby with this amenity. Visitors are advised to come prepared with their own drinking water. The proximity to other more developed sites offers a convenient solution for those who need access to running water for their trip.
RV Camping: The campground is very accommodating to RVs of all sizes, with plenty of room for even large trailers. The open layout and easy access make it a popular spot for RV campers looking for a more natural and less structured setting than a typical RV park.
Tent Sites: The dispersed layout is also ideal for tent campers. You can choose a spot on the sandy beach or in a more secluded area, giving you the flexibility to create the perfect campsite setup.
Picnic Tables: Fire pits and picnic tables are provided at the campsites, offering essential amenities for cooking and enjoying meals outdoors.
Camping Fee: The campground operates on a camping fee basis, which is generally a low rate per night. The fee helps maintain the area and its basic amenities, ensuring a clean and enjoyable experience for everyone.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Early October 2022. Quiet, only one other RV. Plenty of room for many more of all sizes. Pulled my 37' 5th wheel into the Campground with no problem. Verizon is OK but receiving from one cell about 5 miles away. Water level is down and driving and camping near the water is prohibited. Closest camping is about 250 yards from the water. Heards if white tail deer all around us. One of the best Campsites this year. Fire pits and tables are provided. Toilet also but have not checked them out.
October 11 · Carl Combs$12/ night, you can camp right on the beach. There is a non-flushing toilet but you can go to the other campground that is close by and use their bathrooms with running g water and flushing toilets as well as get water if you need it. There is a little store near the marina about 5 min away to ch get ice. This gets busy and crowded, I would recommend getting there early to get a good spot
July 25 · Mariah MorrisDecent sized camping spots, clean bathrooms. Quick drive to marina, or quick walk down to the shore. Not many trees, but it is a desert and trees arent local to the area. Be prepared to bring your own shade. There are also antelope or prong horns laying around the camp which is really cool to see. They keep to themselves and it's fun to watch nature.
August 17 · Jen SFun place to go with the family. Boating, riding dirt bikes, camping and campfire. Definitely recommend this campground if you’re going to Flaming Gorge
July 18 · Kris “66” PriceI wish I did not pay for this. Dont know where the money is going. Absolutely beautiful and stunning location, yet it's soiled by disrespectful and inconsiderate people. Many generators are run well into the night. My neighbor had his on till about 12am. Then started his up before 7:30am. The place seems very minutely maintained. I have no idea what the camp host is doing. If your looking for a loud party camp ground and want to ride bikes and four wheelers around this is for you. Otherwise stay away. Also You can probably camp here free and no one would notice. There's no official spots marked for sites. This place needs love, respect that's all. Would be 1 star except the location itself and the stars are exceptional.
