Great Stay! If you like a “camping vibe” or if you aren’t from this area and want to feel like you are experiencing Mississippi nature, this is your spot. The abundance of trees, birds and sky views made our time here very enjoyable. We saw eagles by the lake several times. Fireflies filled the tree line at night.Randy was friendly and offered local knowledge. He also let us know the area was extremely secure and he was always available if we needed anything.Note to owners:maybe an update to showers and bathroomsBetter “filling mud hole” solutionsKeep Randy.Thank you for offering this amazing spot to the public. - Fredy Finds

Starkville KOA Holiday Introduce

The Starkville KOA Holiday is a beloved destination for Mississippi residents and visitors, offering a full-service camping experience near the vibrant energy of Starkville and Mississippi State University (MSU). Situated on the scenic shores of Oktibbeha County Lake, this location successfully balances the convenience of city proximity with the tranquility of nature. It operates as a full-featured campground, RV park, and lodging facility, providing options for every type of camper, including RV Sites, Tent Camping Sites, and various Camping Cabins and Lodges.

Recognized as a KOA Holiday, the park provides amenities and services designed to make stays comfortable and memorable, whether you're visiting for a quick weekend getaway, an extended work trip, or, most popularly, a major MSU game day. While some visitors note that the park carries a slightly rustic, traditional "camping vibe" and that some older resort features may be closed (such as former lake water slides, due to the lake's operational status), the core experience—clean, safe, and surrounded by trees and wildlife—remains excellent. The dedication of the staff and the strong sense of security are frequent highlights mentioned by guests.

The Starkville KOA Holiday is located at 2661 County Lake Rd, Starkville, MS 39759, placing it conveniently close to the heart of Mississippi State's "College Town." This prime location is approximately four miles west of Starkville and less than ten miles from the main MSU campus, making it an ideal choice for visiting parents, alumni, and fans attending Bulldogs sporting events.

Accessibility is excellent, as the campground is situated just one mile from US-82, the major east-west highway connecting the region. This proximity ensures easy pull-through access for large RVs (up to 75 feet in length is advertised) without navigating tight city streets. For those arriving via car, on-site parking is readily available. Furthermore, the facility is committed to inclusivity, offering a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, and restrooms, ensuring that a wide range of Mississippi users can enjoy the amenities. The location also serves as an excellent jumping-off point for exploring nearby natural wonders, such as the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge and the historic Natchez Trace Parkway.
