Soo Locks Campground Reviews
Older Campground. You go for the views more than the park itself. Clean and manicured sites. A mixture of grass or small gravel on the sites. Some have concrete but those are more like a parking lot vs a site. They have High water pressure ( 80lbs use regulator). They need to work on WiFi signal to cover park, looks like they’ve tried but the antenna needs some work. Waterfront sites don’t get very good cell phone coverage (Verizon and T-Mobile) either. They allow you to pull into river-sites w RV but utilities will be on opposite side. Honestly I think the upper sites are nice and offer just as nice view. 50 amp on some but not all. They offer a dump station but has water on all sites. Office has game room with pool table and hot coffee served all day. For the money you can’t go wrong
Jun 05, 2025 · Dav oVery behind the times. Email wouldn’t be sent until later that day or they would mail me a confirmation. I’m on the road so that wouldn’t work. Laundry closes way too early. Charges per person over four people. Old buildings.
May 24, 2025 · Anna FriessUnexpected neato and cool place to watch the huge ships navigate the locks. Wasn't sure about it. Pleasant surprise. Very friendly.
Jun 08, 2025 · Instructor MHOur first time at this campground and we loved it! We saw many freighters and a Canadian Snowbirds Airshow. Also, a Canadian fire-suppressing aircraft demonstrated loading and dumping water in the river. The campground used to be a KOA years ago, but is now privately owned . Showers are very clean and everyone is friendly and helpful. Lots are well-maintained and most all have some view of the water. We are planning next year's trip already.
Sep 29, 2024 · Willard CurtisIf you need a place to stay in a pinch, this place is good. If you have a clear idea as to where you’d like to reserve your spot in the campground, I highly recommend that you be as clear as possible when making a reservation over the phone. I told the woman who picked up we wanted to be on the water and be able to see all the ships that pass by. She said ok and that she’d get us the best site available. She led me to believe we would have what we asked for. She was not transparent about there being to no sites with water frontage. We had to walk from our site to go look at the freighters passing through. The terrible communication left a sour taste in my mouth, and she didn’t take accountability for misleading us. Instead she retreated to my husband that she never promised me a spot on the water. The point is, read BETWEEN the lines when reserving. The extra $5.00 to reserve over the phone was pointless, and we were just in front of a very busy highway. Bring earplugs if don’t want to be startled awake every couple of hours. Also, this is a very crowded small campground. If you want something more private, or to be surrounded by trees, this is definitely not the place for you. Sites are VERY close together. The showers are hot, and the facilities are relatively clean.
