The experience at Soaring Eagle Campground is what you make of it. One camper, a Knoxville local, highlighted that they love how close it is to home, making it a "great little getaway." This sentiment is a powerful one, as it speaks to the convenience factor that many people value in their leisure time. While some might be concerned about the noise from the nearby interstate, another reviewer noted that they actually find the sound helps them sleep. This shows that what might be a drawback for some is a non-issue or even a benefit for others, depending on personal preference. The campground is noted for its pet-friendly policy, with one guest mentioning they take their "two little dogs" who love to run on the water. This is a crucial feature for many campers who consider their pets part of the family. A positive review also highlights the "amazing" staff, indicating that the on-site team is a major asset. This personal touch can significantly enhance a camping trip, making guests feel welcome and valued. However, it's important to be aware of the varied experiences that have been reported. A review from a customer who intended to tent camp had a very negative experience, citing issues with pricing discrepancies and a rude interaction with a staff member named Joyce regarding their pets. This highlights the importance of confirming all details, including fees and pet policies, directly with the campground prior to your arrival to ensure a smooth and pleasant stay. It is crucial to have clear communication with the establishment, especially concerning group bookings or bringing multiple pets, to avoid any misunderstandings. While the negative review paints a very different picture, the positive reviews from returning customers suggest that the campground can offer a positive experience, particularly for RVers who are prepared and have all their information confirmed. The contrast in reviews underscores the need for proactive planning and direct communication. The campground’s setting is designed to offer a straightforward and accessible camping experience, particularly for those with RVs. The availability of on-site services and the location near water provide a simple but enjoyable environment for a short stay. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We caped here last year and have a reservation for this year I love how close it is in Knoxville as that’s where we live. This is a great little getaway. I don’t mind the noise from the interstate. It actually helps me sleep. We take our two little dogs run on the water has been in the dog, loves the fish. The staff is amazing.
April 25 · Pamela Barrs0 stars is accurate. DONT TENT CAMP. JOYCE will price gouge you, not accurate with website (says $32 after taxes a night) Joyce charged us $210 for 4 sites one night. $75 to bring 3 dogs. Then was told they wouldn't take our pets. NO PETS - they say yes until your there and then you loose your $$ when you can't stay with them. Joyce was very rude- told us to find another place she didn't want our dogs or our business. Unless she owns it- who ever does should look into a new receptionist CLEARLY Joyce is burnt out on helping family campers!!!!
April 24 · Randall DugganBooked a site and when I went to pay for it I was told to send a picture of my set up. Then they ghosted me. Don't waste your time.
July 09 · J. FrankI love the location. Easy on and off the interstate. Pull through sites available. Bath houses are always clean and the campground has full hookups. They have propane and a small store that sells almost anything you need. Short drive to Knoxville if you need to go that way. I like the lake lots also.
December 10 · christopher livelyThe management is very good. Joyce is extremely good at her job. Very helpful and has an award winning smile. David is extremely helpful and always wears a smile and a wave. Campground is clean and most sites are either cement or flattened gravel. Those who are in the extended stay lots have newer campers and are pleasant folks. The bathrooms are very clean, the laundry facilities is very clean as well. The lake lots are well kept and fishing is good! Right off I-40 close to Oak Ridge, Lenoir City and West Knoxville. My stay here has been wonderful. Very safe campground. The country roads around the campground are enjoyable to explore with streams, ponds, great mountain and pasture views.
