Sky View Campground Introduce
Welcome, Colorado adventurers, especially those planning unforgettable group getaways! If you're looking for a cutting-edge camping experience specifically designed for camaraderie and convenience, Sky View Campground at Carter Lake in Loveland, CO, is your ideal destination. As Larimer County's very first campground created with large groups in mind, Sky View offers a unique and modern approach to outdoor recreation, blending robust amenities with the stunning natural beauty of the Front Range.
Sky View Campground, which officially opened its doors to reserved campers in May 2022, is a 6-acre recreational development project nestled near the beloved Carter Lake. This campground stands out from traditional sites because of its innovative "pod" design, which thoughtfully accommodates both small and large groups, with a total of 15 campsites spread across three distinct pods, capable of hosting up to 120 people. Its infrastructure is entirely paved, including asphalt roads and individual parking areas, which means you won't have to contend with dust or mud – a significant plus for many campers. Each site within a pod comes equipped with electric hookups, a fire pit, and a picnic table, ensuring comfort and convenience. The highlight for groups is the large central concrete circle with a communal fire ring in each pod, fostering a perfect environment for gatherings, shared meals, and memorable evenings under the Colorado sky.
Sky View Campground is situated at 2574 N County Rd 31, Loveland, CO 80537, USA. This prime location places it on the north side of Carter Lake, a picturesque reservoir in the foothills southwest of Loveland. For residents across the Colorado Front Range, reaching Sky View is a straightforward and scenic drive, typically accessible via well-maintained county roads from nearby Loveland, Fort Collins, and the I-25 corridor. The campground's paved roads and individual sites enhance accessibility not only for vehicles but also for individuals with limited mobility, demonstrating a thoughtful design. While the lake itself isn't directly "walkable" from every site in the traditional sense, easy access to Carter Lake for various water activities is just a short drive away. This perfect blend of serene natural surroundings and convenient access to Loveland's amenities makes Sky View an ideal escape for local groups looking for a seamless outdoor experience.

Sky View Campground Reviews
The circle group site was awesome. Even enough room to chalk in a pickleball court. The lake isn't really walkable, and no tress for shade is why I have it at a 4 star. Other than that, it was a great site to hang with friends.
Jul 25, 2024 · Eric CrowleyThis is a perfect campground for small and large groups. There are 3 pods, and each pod has 5 back-in camper sites, each with 30&50 amp electric hookup, a fire pit and a picnic table. There is also a large cement circle in the middle of the 5 camping sites in each pod with a large fire ring for when the entire pod wants to get together for a fire. All roads and individual sites are paved so dust and mud shouldn't ever be an issue. We're making plans to go again soon!
