Skonewood Christian Retreat Reviews
Hi everyone. My wife and I are traveling from Quebec city Canada to Yellowstone National Park, with many stops enroute. We had the chance to stay 2 nights at the Skonewood Christian Retreat. Very nice, clean and spacious sites, a lake where you can swim and do a kayak ride. They also have a small playground for the kids and a basketball ring. Hosts are very friendly. A must if you travel in the area. Thank you for the nice stay.

Jun 27, 2022 · Judy LenerOur church, Disciples Alliance Church, loves coming here every year. This year marked our third year in a row at this camp. Every time we have camped here, Jackie and her husband have accommodated for our needs and have checked up on us daily. They are always quick to respond, and they drive around the camp at least 3 to 5 times a day.One project that we are excited about are the renovations to the bathrooms in 2024. This will increase the comfort of our stays for sure. As of right now, this would be the only draw back to the camp, but I am glad that the owners see this concern and are working on it. We hope to support this project and see it come to fruition in the future. One of the aspects we love about this camp is the Lake. The lake is home to many schools of pan fish including large sized crappie, and it holds many 3LB+ Largemouth Bass and big Northern Pike. The lake is also equipped with a great swim area and multiple canoes and paddle boats. For its size, the fishing and swimming are great.Overall, this camp is a blessing. As we have seen over the years, the goal of this camp is not to make money, but to grow community. Thus, the prices and owners reflect this. We hope to come back next year and make it our fourth year in a row.God Bless,Pastor Daniel Vang
Aug 09, 2023 · DAC Next GenIf you are looking for a family friendly campground, I highly recommend Skonewood. I like it that the playground with wide open grass area for sports are available right on sight so it's easy to keep your eyes on the kids. Each stall came with running water and electricity which is a HUGE plus!! The swimming area was great for kids. The float mat was their favorite!! Lots of sunnies if you're looking to fish but not much more than a bunch of sunnies. Once in a while you'll see a few bass come by but that's about it. This was our second time here and would definitely come back again in the future.
