Silver Valley Trailhead Introduce
For Michiganders who cherish outdoor recreation, the Silver Valley Trailhead in National City offers a unique and historically rich access point to some of our state’s most beloved trails. While its name might evoke images of a traditional campground, it's crucial for local users to understand that the Silver Valley Campground ceased operations in the early 1970s. Today, this area has transformed into a vibrant hub for year-round activities, serving as a key component of the extensive Corsair Ski Trail complex. This evolution means that while you won't be pitching a tent here, you'll find unparalleled opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing (in designated areas), hiking, and trail running, all set within the beautiful landscapes of Wilber Township. It’s a perfect example of Michigan’s adaptability in preserving and repurposing natural spaces for diverse recreational pursuits.

Dec 03, 2018 · Jaesung Edward LeeI hike these trails about 6 months out of the year. The trails are old two tracks and make for easy hikes. Lots of wildlife, have seen coyotes, otters, bear, turkey, deer, fox, grouse and yes last year feral chickens.
Sep 18, 2021 · Russ BeaubienI've always loved the trails and campground. Small and primitive, but beautiful! I've been camping here since I was a kid in boy scouts. If you're a fan of nature there's plenty to do here year round!
