4.0
Perfect camping spot in maroon bell region :The campground is clean and surrounded by nature. I reserved site 6, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis. It features a clean pit toilet and a trash dumpster nearby. Site 6 is the closest to the restroom, directly across from the campsite. The location is near the White River water channel, and the sound of the water helped me sleep. The trees around site 6 provide shade during the day, keeping the tent cooler. Site 6 also has one parking space. Additionally, the Maroon Bells attraction is easily accessible from this campsite without needing a timed entry.Do not expect much cell phone connectivity, I got little less connectivity to cellular service.T mobile have one line of signal strength and LTE connection. - bhaumik patel

Location and Accessibility

Silver Bell Campground is strategically located in Aspen, CO 81611, USA, placing it directly within the highly sought-after Maroon Bells region of the White River National Forest. Its exact location is off Maroon Creek Road, which leads directly to the Maroon Bells Scenic Area. This proximity is a significant advantage for campers, offering unparalleled access to one of Colorado's most iconic natural landmarks.

Accessibility to Silver Bell Campground is generally good, being set back from the main Maroon Creek Road, which helps to mitigate any potential road noise. Customers confirm that "The campground is set back from the road so no road noise, all you hear is the constant running of the creek." This ensures a peaceful environment despite its popularity. A major highlight of its location is the "easy access to maroon bells since you receive a parking tag that allows you to park even when the shuttle is running." This is a significant benefit, as timed entry and mandatory shuttle use are often required for general public access to Maroon Bells during peak season. Having a parking tag from the campground simplifies visits to this highly popular attraction. The drive to the campground, while scenic, is via a well-maintained road from Aspen. While specific site conditions vary (e.g., "Site #5 is very small with limited place for a tent"), the campground itself is laid out to provide a sense of space. It's important to note that while some sites may be better suited for RVs, larger tents might find certain sites, like #5, challenging due to proximity to fire pits. Cell phone connectivity is limited; expect "little less connectivity to cellular service," with T-Mobile possibly offering "one line of signal strength and LTE connection." This makes Silver Bell ideal for those truly looking to unplug.

  • No Drinking Water: It is crucial to note that "there is NONE at this campground," as confirmed by customer reviews. Campers must bring all their own drinking water.
