Sawmill Lake Campground Reviews
I've been there once and I love the place. The staff is very friendly. It's a quiet place with enough space to not bother the campers. I love the area and the campsites. The only thing I don't like, and why I gave it 4 stars, is that there are some uneven sites, not flat, and lots of water. There are sites with a small stream of water running down the middle or along the edges of the campsite. The sites that have platforms are nice, but I loved that they have wooden platforms. The bathrooms aren't that great. But I recommend the place to all campers, and the internet connection is good.
May 19, 2025 · Erly RamosCame back here after a ten year gap, and was less in love with it, have to say. Nice sites, many with tent platforms, but the water is so still it does make the campground somewhat buggy. Also. The poison ivy is out of control. Y’all need to hire some goats real quick because it’s bad. That said if you’re going I would suggest the water side sites on the east side of the pond. You get sunset that way, and on the other side morning sun is too intense.
Sep 03, 2024 · Dashiell EavesStayed at site 2 for a few nights. Nice site with plenty of space from adjacent sites. It is a hike from the parking lot to the site. the site has a fairly level spot for a 8 ft x 8ft tent. the rest of the site is sloped down to the lake. There was some noise with barking dogs but that's just inconsiderate dog owners! We did not see any bears or evidence of them. We were happy with the site and would choose it again.
May 20, 2025 · Robert TietjenDown pouring rain on our weekend camping trip. Still made the best out of the trip. Heated restrooms made up for the cold wet weekend.
Jul 19, 2023 · Joshi FThis is a nice place to stargaze. Little light pollution. You don't have to drive inside the campsite. Park outside the campside and you will have a good sight. It might be much cooler up the hill so you may want to prepare some warmkeeping clothes. Stay careful about the little insects: they could be annoying.
