We were in loop C site 145. The views of the mountains were awesome but hazy due to the Canadian wildfires. All sites are pull-through and adjacent to the road with many providing limited space for campers. Our site was tight and did not allow us to put out the awning on our camper. There is a nice shower building with four (4) gender neutral showers with easy access from all sites. There is potable water throughout the loop and at the dump station across from the campground entrance. A camp host was in the loop, frequently making rounds to welcome new guests. The staff were friendly and informative. The ranger at the campground entrance provided a good overview of what to expect and what to avoid. You cannot forage for wood but can purchase dry firewood from the General Store at the Rising Sun campground a short drive up Going to the Sun road.Generators are allowed in loop C from 8-10am, noon-2pm, and 5-7pm daily. We had 4-bars of 5G Verizon service throughout the campground. - Jim Cincotta

It offers a unique blend of accessibility to iconic park features and the opportunity to experience the raw beauty of the Montana wilderness. Whether you're an avid hiker eager to hit the trails, a family looking to create lasting memories amidst stunning mountain backdrops, or an RV enthusiast seeking convenient facilities within the park, Saint Mary Campground caters to a diverse range of visitors. We understand the importance of making the most of our limited time in such a special place, and this campground's strategic location and visitor-focused amenities help make that possible, ensuring your trip to Glacier is as seamless as it is spectacular.

Saint Mary Campground is strategically located at the Parking lot, Lp C Rd, Browning, MT 59417, USA. This places it directly on the east side of Glacier National Park, just a short distance from the St. Mary Visitor Center and the entrance to the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road. Its position makes it an excellent gateway to exploring not only the eastern section of the Going-to-the-Sun Road but also providing relatively convenient access to the Many Glacier and Two Medicine areas of the park, both renowned for their stunning scenery and extensive trail systems.

For Montana locals, the accessibility of Saint Mary Campground is a significant advantage. While it's within a national park and therefore requires a park entrance pass (and potentially a vehicle reservation for the Going-to-the-Sun Road during peak season, although campground reservations typically grant access to the road for the duration of your stay), its location on the east side often provides a different flow of traffic compared to the west side. This can sometimes make entry and exploration a bit smoother. The campground is easily reachable via paved roads, making it suitable for all vehicle types, including RVs. Its proximity to Browning also means essential services like gas and groceries are available nearby before entering the park, allowing for thorough preparation. The convenience of being located directly within the park boundaries minimizes daily travel time, maximizing your opportunities to hike, sightsee, and truly experience the wonders of Glacier National Park.
