Saginaw Campground Introduce
For many of us in Minnesota, the call of the Northwoods is a strong one. We cherish our lakes, our forests, and the quiet respite that only a true outdoor escape can offer. When the time comes to pack up the RV or pitch a tent, finding a campground that combines convenience with comfort is key. That’s where Saginaw Campground comes in. Nestled in the welcoming community of Saginaw, just a short drive from the vibrant city of Duluth, this campground offers a fantastic base for exploring all that our beautiful region has to offer.
Saginaw Campground is more than just a place to park your RV or set up your tent; it's a well-kept, friendly haven that caters to both overnight travelers and those looking for a longer seasonal stay. It’s a testament to the dedication of its owners and hosts, who clearly pride themselves on maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Whether you're passing through on a grand Minnesota road trip or planning a longer family vacation exploring the North Shore, Saginaw Campground provides a comfortable and convenient spot to relax and recharge, embodying that friendly, approachable spirit we value here in Minnesota.
Saginaw Campground boasts a highly accessible location at 6988 US-2, Saginaw, MN 55779, USA. Situated directly off US-2, a major thoroughfare, it's incredibly easy to find whether you’re arriving from Duluth, Minneapolis, or points west. For those coming from Duluth, it's a straightforward drive – simply head south on I-35, take exit 250 for US-2 toward Proctor/Grand Rapids, and continue for approximately 13 miles until you spot the campground on your left. If you're traveling north from Minneapolis, the journey typically involves I-35 North for about 134 miles, then taking exit 237 for MN-33 North towards Cloquet/Iron Range, continuing for 16 miles, and finally merging onto US-2 East.
While its proximity to US-2 makes it exceptionally convenient, some visitors note a degree of highway noise. However, many find that the convenience outweighs this, especially for an overnight stay or as a base for day trips. The campground's location means quick access to local amenities in Saginaw and Hermantown, as well as being just minutes from Duluth's popular Miller Hill area for shopping and dining. This balance of being easily reachable yet providing a sense of escape is a significant draw for local Minnesotans looking for a practical and pleasant camping experience. The well-maintained grounds are noticeable upon arrival, giving a positive first impression of this Northwoods retreat.

Clean Restrooms and Showers: Reviews frequently highlight the cleanliness and good maintenance of the restroom and shower facilities. These are often secured with a code, providing an added layer of privacy and security for campers.
Dump Station: A dedicated dump station is available for RVs, although some campers have noted it may be locked and require assistance from staff, emphasizing the hands-on approach of the campground hosts.

It allows campers to enjoy the tranquility of the campground while having easy access to urban amenities and cultural sites.

Local Dining Nearby: A notable highlight mentioned by campers is the presence of a bar and grill directly across the road. This convenient option for a meal or a refreshing drink can be a welcome change from campfire cooking after a long day of exploring.
Pet-Friendly Policy: The campground is generally pet-friendly, allowing many Minnesotans to bring their beloved dogs along for the adventure, though it's important to note the specific policy regarding dog size and number per site (e.g., 1 dog over 30 lbs OR 2 dogs under 30 lbs each).

Saginaw Campground Reviews
We had a nice and quiet, 2-week stay at Saginaw Campground. It's a smaller campground with some seasonal campers, but camp hosts take very good care of it. A very special "Thank you" to the owner for helping us out when our back window got broken. We truly didn't expect it and really appreciated your thoughtfulness.
Jun 23, 2025 · Teresa PriceDidn't stay here, only pulled in to dump $10! No one in the office & the doorbell battery was dead, thankfully someone at the house close by seen us. Asked about a nights stay $40 full hookup! A bit expensive if you ask me. Did notice a Bar and grill across the road! The grounds looked well kept.
Jun 27, 2025 · Karla ThompsonI would never recommend this place If I could give them no star I would it's a dirty park grass needs to be cut, restrooms r nasty. We had a fire pit but couldn't use it cause the camper next to us had there car parked literally next to our fire pit. We called the front to see if they could get it moved and they never called back nor did they move there car. Also there is a bar across the street which i have no problem with untill a guy comes out and starts peeing in the parking lot and exposing himself which is disgusting.I wouldn't recommend this place at all.
Jun 16, 2025 · crystal drenchko (Kriss)One of our favorite places to camp when we go up to hike the north shore. There is lots of privacy, they are really laid back with dogs, and you can buy wood right from the campground. The bathrooms are also so clean and water is nice and warm in the showers.
Sep 04, 2019 · Emily LarabellFriendly staff members and spacious campsites. BE AWARE that this campground is right next to a train track. Not a problem if you can tune out the sounds though. Bathrooms are clean with minor decorations. Legit.
