The camp grounds are absolutely beautiful but the road in is awful.. I decided not to stay because I got spooked around dark and realized I have no defense against bears or cats ... And it looks like a bears den area ... So I left 😥 but would have loved to enjoy it . The road will take the bottom out of a car , I'm in a Yukon and it was a struggle. - Hygh Kyte024

Rush Creek Campground Introduce

Introduction / Overview

For Californians seeking a genuine escape into the wild, far from the well-trodden paths, Rush Creek Campground offers an experience that is both raw and rewarding. Tucked away in the expansive Shasta-Trinity National Forest, near the charming town of Weaverville, this campground embodies the spirit of rustic outdoor adventure. It's a place where the sounds of nature prevail, and the sense of seclusion allows for a profound connection with the magnificent California wilderness.

Rush Creek Campground is not designed for those seeking extensive amenities or paved roads; instead, it caters to campers who appreciate the simplicity and rugged beauty of an undeveloped setting. It's an ideal destination for individuals and small groups looking to disconnect, immerse themselves in nature, and enjoy activities like hiking, wildlife viewing, and simply relaxing amidst serene surroundings. While offering a truly wild experience, it’s important to note that preparedness is key, as highlighted by some visitor experiences, particularly concerning the access road and the presence of natural wildlife. Despite these considerations, for the adventurous Californian, Rush Creek Campground promises an unforgettable encounter with the untouched beauty of the state's northern reaches.

Location and Accessibility

Rush Creek Campground is located at 34N97, Weaverville, CA 96093, USA. This address places it squarely within the vast and diverse Shasta-Trinity National Forest, a region celebrated for its stunning natural beauty and abundant recreational opportunities in Northern California.
