Round Lake Campground is wonderfully situated at 2180 Latham Rd, National City, MI 48748, USA. For us Michiganders, this location places you within the expansive and beautiful Huron-Manistee National Forests. This means easy access to a vast natural playground right in our backyard. Getting there is generally straightforward, whether you’re coming from the larger metropolitan areas downstate or from other parts of Northern Michigan. From the west, you can leave M-55 about 6 miles east of its intersection with M-65, turning north on Sand Lake Road for 3 miles to Indian Lake Road, then left for 2.5 miles to Latham Road, and finally left for 1/2 mile. If you're approaching from the east, leave M-55 at its intersection with Plank Road near Tawas City and follow Plank Road for 7 miles, curving left on Indian Lake Road for 1/4 mile, then turning right on Latham Road for 1/2 mile. The drive itself is often scenic, transitioning you from everyday life into the tranquil, wooded setting that defines this part of Michigan. Its location ensures that you're immersed in nature, yet still within a reasonable driving distance for many of us across the state, making it a convenient choice for a rustic, lakeside camping experience.

Round Lake Campground Reviews
Nice campground with good size campsites. Only bad thing is that it's kind of creepy how the locals constantly drive through on their golf carts like they are scoping things out. It's not just one or two but dozens of them throughout the day and going way above the posted speed limit.
Jul 21, 2024 · Tammy FowlerBeautiful campground right on the lake. Great views right from our campsite. Pit potties were as clean as possible. Hand pump for water which kinda looks like ginger ale. Paved road and aprons in each site. Only issue is rule enforcement. Rule 2 , campsite must be occupied first night. The two pictured just dropped and ran. No sign of them since. Either the rules don't apply to them, or they are not enforced. Unfair to campers who play by the rules. Hope they aren't the "loud generator all night" types.
Sep 01, 2021 · Tom MeerschaertNice NFS Campground, well kept. Nice space between sites. All have blacktop parking.
May 23, 2024 · Harry McBratnieMan, this is a hidden secret of a park. It's neat and tidy, with these terrific sand bottom lakes. It's only 12 miles from Tawas and close to both water and off-road recreation options. Fishing, snowmobiling, ORV, Kite boarding, you name it. If you are looking for a primitive campground and only need a well and a pit potty, this is a good option. Campsites all have asphalt pads for campers and the road into the campground is paved the whole way.
Sep 04, 2020 · Tycho AussiePrice is right. It's on a lake. (One of 7 here) there is a beach close to site 8...we were at 7. And close to Tawas, on Lake Huron. Bathrooms are just port-a-potties. Water pump available, but I wouldn't advise using it for drinking. There is a dumpster. Right beside Sand Lake.
