Riverview Campsites distinguishes itself by embracing a more rustic and straightforward camping experience. As one delighted visitor enthusiastically put it, "We LOVED our stay so much, we can't wait to come back! It’s a very simple, beautiful campground." Even on a "rainy weekend," the dedication to maintaining "roads and camper spots stayed great" speaks to the care taken to ensure a comfortable experience, regardless of weather. This focus on the essentials allows campers to truly connect with their surroundings and enjoy the simplicity of nature.
The true magic of Riverview Campsites, however, often lies in its abundant wildlife. Riverview Campsites is nestled at 2 Riverview Road, Benezette, PA 15821, USA. This address places it squarely in the heart of Pennsylvania's famed Elk Country, a region celebrated for its stunning natural landscapes and, most notably, its thriving elk population. Benezette is the epicenter of elk viewing in the state, making the campground's location a significant draw for wildlife enthusiasts.
For Pennsylvanians, reaching Benezette typically involves navigating scenic state routes through rural areas. While it offers a sense of being "away from it all," the town is accessible from major population centers. From cities like Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, the drive will be a few hours, but the journey itself is part of the experience, transitioning from urban or suburban landscapes to the dense forests and rolling hills of the Pennsylvania Wilds. For those closer, such as from State College or DuBois, the drive is considerably shorter, making it an excellent weekend getaway option.
The campground's name, "Riverview," hints at its proximity to water, and indeed, it is located near the beautiful Sinnemahoning Creek, a tributary of the Susquehanna River. This offers opportunities for fishing, wading, and enjoying the sounds of flowing water. The local roads leading to Benezette and then to Riverview Campsites are generally well-maintained, but once you enter the campground, a review notes that "the roads and camper spots stayed great" even during a rainy weekend, suggesting that while it might be a simpler setup, it is still thoughtfully maintained to ensure accessibility for campers and their vehicles. This remote yet accessible location is perfect for those truly wanting to immerse themselves in the wild heart of Pennsylvania.
Riverview Campsites, as described by its visitors, focuses on providing a "simple, beautiful campground" experience, emphasizing a back-to-nature approach while still ensuring essential comforts for campers.
Campsites for Various Needs: The campground offers designated "camper spots" which accommodate both RVs and tents. While the specific amenities at each site (e.g., water, electric hookups) are not detailed in the provided reviews, a "simple" campground in this region often provides a mix of primitive tent sites, and sites with basic electric and water hookups. They would typically include fire rings and picnic tables, essential for a traditional camping experience.
Well-Maintained Roads and Spots: A notable service highlighted in a review is the condition of the campground's infrastructure. Despite a "rainy weekend," the "roads and camper spots stayed great," indicating that the management takes care to ensure accessibility and usability of the sites even in less-than-ideal weather conditions. This is a crucial service for camper comfort and safety.
Access to Natural Surroundings: The primary service offered by Riverview Campsites is unparalleled access to the natural beauty of Elk Country. This includes direct immersion in a forested environment, proximity to Sinnemahoning Creek, and the unique opportunity for wildlife viewing right from the campground.
Peaceful Environment: While not a tangible "service," the commitment to maintaining a quiet and undisturbed atmosphere is a key offering. For campers seeking respite from noise and crowds, Riverview provides the solitude and tranquility that is often hard to find in more developed campgrounds.
Management Presence: The positive sentiment of returning visitors and the upkeep of the grounds imply a responsive and caring management presence, ensuring that the campground operates smoothly and guest needs are met within the scope of its rustic offerings.
Riverview Campsites is renowned for several distinct features and highlights that make it a compelling choice for nature-loving campers in Pennsylvania.
Immersive Natural Beauty: The foremost highlight of Riverview Campsites is its truly beautiful natural setting. Visitors consistently praise being "surrounded by the beauty of nature," indicating lush forests, scenic landscapes, and a pristine environment that defines the camping experience here.

This provides unparalleled opportunities for elk viewing, especially during rutting season (fall) or simply during morning and evening hours. The chance to "saw some wildlife on a morning coffee walk," including a fawn, underscores the frequent and intimate wildlife encounters possible here.
Wildlife Viewing Opportunities: Beyond elk and fawns, the natural surroundings offer chances to spot a variety of other wildlife. The mention of a "golden trout" indicates the health of the local waterways and the potential for observing diverse aquatic life and other animals that thrive in this rich ecosystem.
Simple and Uncluttered Experience: The campground is celebrated for its "very simple" nature. This means fewer commercial distractions and more focus on the core camping experience. It appeals to those who prefer a less developed, more authentic outdoor adventure.
Well-Maintained Spots Even in Inclement Weather: A notable highlight is the resilience of the campground. Despite a "rainy weekend," the "roads and camper spots stayed great," which is a significant advantage for campers who want a reliable experience regardless of weather conditions.
Peaceful and Quiet Atmosphere: For those seeking solitude and tranquility, Riverview Campsites delivers. Its focus on natural immersion ensures a calm and quiet environment, perfect for relaxation, stargazing, and listening to the sounds of the wilderness.
Proximity to Sinnemahoning Creek: The "Riverview" in the name suggests proximity to a river or creek, likely Sinnemahoning Creek, which offers opportunities for fishing, wading, or simply enjoying the tranquil sounds of flowing water, enhancing the natural appeal.
Given the description of Riverview Campsites as a "very simple, beautiful campground" focused on "being surrounded by the beauty of nature," it is unlikely to feature complex or frequent promotional campaigns typically seen in larger, more commercialized campgrounds. Its primary appeal seems to stem from its unique location and rustic charm rather than discount offers.
Focus on Value Through Nature: The core "offer" is the unparalleled access to the natural beauty of Elk Country and the opportunity for abundant wildlife viewing, which is often considered priceless by nature enthusiasts. This intrinsic value is the main draw rather than price reductions.
Consistent Pricing for a Niche Experience: Campgrounds that cater to a specific niche, like rustic nature lovers and wildlife watchers, often maintain consistent pricing based on the unique experience they provide rather than relying heavily on fluctuating promotions.
No Explicit Promotions Mentioned: The provided customer reviews highlight satisfaction with the natural setting and the condition of the sites rather than any specific deals or discounts. This suggests that promotional offers are not a primary part of their marketing strategy.

Riverview Campsites Reviews
We LOVED our stay so much, we cant wait to come back! It’s a very simple, beautiful campground for those who love being surrounded by the beauty of nature!
Jun 10, 2025 · Brooke WatsonIt was a rainy weekend but the roads and camper spots stayed great. Saw some wildlife on a morning coffee walk. A fawn and a golden trout.
Jun 18, 2025 · Craig BonneyStayed here while on a motorcycle trip. The camp is beautiful and quiet. It is well maintained. The views of the river are very nice. You can see little fish swimming right by the shore. I met the hosts and also had a chat with the owner - all amazing people! I recommend staying here!
Jun 08, 2025 · Roman HutsI’ve stayed every year since they opened and always in September. These photos are from the stream that flows through the campsite but were taken upstream and downstream from the site. I would like to visit more than just the month of September but so far I haven’t made the time for it. Lovely place with plenty of wildlife. I hear the fishing is good too!
Jun 11, 2025 · Roger BaileyShared a humid evening of tent camping with 4 other motorcyclists and two teens. Thankful for the view of the river as well as the cooling effect at night.Whereas I had no issue with the placement of porta potties across the driveway from our campsite, the main bathhouse was a bit of a walk without a landscaped path to get to. I ended up riding up a very rocky trail to take a shower and use the facilities.Only after I returned to camp did I learn that the bathroom water was not potable. Considering I boil my water for breakfast and coffee, I didn't see that as a problem. But, drinking water was only available from a hand pump further up the property from the bathhouse.I totally enjoyed a ride in a Polaris Side by Side with one of my buddies, having accepted the offer from Carmen, a long time friend of the campground owner. Definitely a highlight of our stay at Riverside Campsites!
